“Rouge.”
“Right. Okay.” Rouge broke off for a moment, taking a breath before resuming. “So. The tapes we found are… not quite what we thought they were.”
"I thought we agreed to hand them over to GUN to take care of."
"I know, but... I got curious," Rouge admitted, and Shadow scoffed, unsurprised, though growing more tense when he noted the unease in his friend's expression, her posture.
He followed Rouge into their living room. Sat on top of their end table was the box Shadow recognised, spotting the tapes they had recovered in the Eggman base poking out through the opened slit.
“Okay.” Shadow said, voice his usual deadpan drawl as he returned his attention to the bat. “What was it that was so important you needed me here?”
“I’ll just show you.”Or
Shadow and Rouge find a box of tape recordings in an abandoned Eggman facility with one clue on it; a piece of tape labeled 'SONIC'. When they finally watch the tapes to figure out what's hiding on them, they realize Sonic has been hiding a lot from everyone, and they may have just signed up for more than they bargained for.

❤️ CH: 10 - Sonic was kidnapped and tortured physically and psychologically for 6 months by Infinite. When he was saved he hid the extent of the pain he endured, but Shadow and Rouge saw on tapes how bad it really was. Shadow confronts him, Sonic had been avoiding him, as Infinite used Shadow in hurtful visions, and he knew he was more perceptive than the rest and didn't want him to catch something was up. Shadow heals his broken ankle and later on begins sleeping with him to help him with his nightmares. Shadow forces Sonic to shower after finding out he doesn't bathe. In the process Shadow takes Sonic's scarf off and reveals dark bruises. Sonic had hung himself thinking real life was an illusion, pain typically ended it, but he was mistaken. Shadow helps him bathe, after they're done Tails calls Sonic. Eggman is attacking a village. When they are all there to fight Sonic and Infinite battle, but Sonic quickly comes apart when trapped in an illusion. Shadow fights Infinity instead, moving the fight further away from Sonic to buy him time to escape. Infinity's illusion's on Shadow aren't effective enough to trip him up. He realizes that Sonic isn't there anymore, and must have run off to help the others. Shadow is conflicted and wants help from Sonic, but locks the fuck in and takes off his inhibitor rings. bro is ready to kill -
