Langa Hasegawa returns home from work one day to a love letter left by his boyfriend. The more he reads, though, the more worrying the words become, until eventually he finds himself rushing to Reki's house in worried panic. Reki's been off for a few months-- but when did it get this bad?
Reki's always had anxiety and self-esteem issues. Summary
It’s during their final year of high school, half a year left before their graduation, and Langa has no idea it’ll be the last week he ever spends with Reki.
He likes routine. He likes the steady rhythm of mornings, the feel of the sun on his skin, the sound of birds nesting above him in the trees. Nature makes sense- weather shifts in patterns, plants grow in cycles, and the sky is always there. For Langa, who’s autistic, that kind of consistency is a comfort. So is Reki.
Reki, who brings him outside of his head. Who’s messy and bright and grounding all at once. Who made him laugh even on the days when nothing else felt real.
But nothing about the week that follows is fair. There’s no foreshadowing, no slow unravel. Just one unpredictable moment- and then everything changes.
Suddenly Langa’s routine is shattered. The world feels colder. And the person who made him feel like he was finally living… is gone. Now he has to figure out how to keep going. How to exist in a world Reki is no longer in, when Reki was the one who helped him feel like he belonged in it in the first place.
… He just knew Reki made his world make sense. And now, nothing does anymore.

Summary
Langa dropped his board beside Reki’s and sat beside him. They didn’t talk for a while. Just listened to the world hum — tires rolling by, seagulls screaming toward the coast, the hiss of wind brushing past the alley.
“You didn’t show up to the ramp this morning,” Langa said after a long pause, voice hesitant.
“Didn’t feel like it,” Reki muttered. He couldn’t look at him.
He felt it again — that ache, right behind his ribs. The same one that bloomed during that stretch of time when everything between them had cracked like ice under pressure. When Langa had soared and Reki had drowned in his own insecurities.
“I waited.”

Summary
"All at once, Langa was 15 again. He was alone and cold and panicking and the only thing he could think was when is dad coming home? But he wasn’t, was he? Langa was by himself again, rocking back and forth on the king-sized bed again, and it was so, so dark.
But then, there was warmth.
This time was suddenly different, all he could feel now were a pair of arms wrapping around his back from the side, and they were tight and safe and felt like a version of home that he had found himself.
Reki."
OR: Langa has a nightmare about his dad at a sleepover with Reki, and who better to comfort him than Reki himself?

What started as Reki wanting to show Langa some of his favorite animated disney movies, quickly dissolves into routine movie nights. And of course, no good movie night is complete without blanket forts, cuddling, and some hidden feelings.

Out loud.
Casually.
Like it was obvious.
And Reki hasn’t known peace since.—
or where Reki realizes Langa has never called him “hot”, and decides to do something about it
