Ghost lets himself be pulled up slightly, his hand just as steady on Soap's thigh. "That what you need, Johnny?" he asks, licking his lips behind the balaclava. Soap’s eyes drop to his mouth, flick back up. "You wanna draw blood? Be in control?"
"Lt–" Soap starts, lips parted on a rough exhale. A plea or a warning, Ghost can't tell. He's too focused on the way Soap's pupils dilate, and the way the edge of the knife digs into the fabric at his throat.

Summary
John had been pacing back and forth in his small room for the better part of an hour. There wasn’t anything in particular bothering him, he just couldn’t settle down after the 141s last mission. He had flown through his paper work after they got back from the assignment. It was a relatively simple extraction mission, everything had gone according to plan. The Iranian nuclear scientist had been rescued from her captors and the threat had been eliminated without so much as a step outside of the plan. So for the life of him Soap could not figure out why he couldn’t get his mind and body to settle down.

Tick tock, tick tock - the assembly of all those monitors, tubes and wires like Soap was a machine on the brink of self-destruction, a second bomb waiting to explode. The too-slow rise and fall of his chest, the manic-fast surge of his heartbeat. The long, long hours waiting to see if he'd even be able to be stabilized, rushed to surgery, the endless pacing outside of the ICU doors waiting, waiting, waiting…
Tick tock.

When Soap looks back up at him, he finds Ghost’s eyes staring back. His eyes are soft, his normal coldness stripped away by Soap’s delicate hands. He looks like he wants to say something, his eyes trying to convey the words he can never say.
Soap smiles at him.
