Summary
Donnie has everything perfectly under control. Sure, sometimes he hears the voices of those who aren't there, and sometimes he's not in control of his own body- but those are easy fixes. He's fine, dare he say even better than fine! He's so fine that he even constructed a portal to other dimensions in case the Krang come back! It's not like he worked endlessly, almost obsessively, over the portal for days, missing sleep and family trying to talk to him.
He's fine!
He's even fine when the portal swallows him whole and spits him out into a new universe with nothing but his battle shell and clocking broach.
One with alternate versions of him and his brothers, just starting out and fighting their own version of Kraang and bad guys. He's even fine when he gets dragged into their upcoming battles and fights. He's going to get home anyway; what's the harm in helping out his alternate family fight against Kraang?

Maybe he’s wrong for thinking about it, but he can’t get her voice out of his head, the strange almost made-up sounding words she used to describe his bug-busting machine, and yet she had sounded so. . prideful? It may just be wishful thinking, but she called him a genius, a twinkle in her eyes that he thought may have actually been genuine. She’d appreciated his hard work, his dedication to his craft, the effort he’d put into his tech, and although her motives were. . less than ideal, she still praised him. Made him feel worthy, made him feel appreciated.
"Can't believe they had done such? Can't trust them? Perhaps can't. . stay with them?" He pushed, earning a pained whine as the vine constricted on the former's cracked, injured chest. "They have done nothing but hurt you, upset you, use you. From what I've gathered, this has gone on for years. Perhaps you need a change in pace, a new life. . . I won't be like them. Come with me and become greater than this sorry husk of an abandoned warrior you are, truly live up to your full potential."

Summary
After Donnie returned from SAINW, he struggled to adapt back to normalcy. He was constantly overwhelmed and anxious. His family helps him as much as they can.
But it doesn't get easier when Donnie realises that he hasn't spoken a word since he came home. And can't speak a word.
