Summary
She doesn’t pull back her thick waves of hair, lets them hang heavily like dark icicles around her face and against her throat. Eve just stays and sits, lets fashionable women in primary colors drape thick blankets around her shoulders and scurry off. Gives monosyllabic answers to increasingly impatient officers.
For the first time in a long time there’s nowhere to go, nowhere to search for the woman who was always gone.
OR: A happy ending with a little bit of plot to try and fix that terrible finale.

Summary
Esme shifts and mumbles into Kara’s shoulder, “It’s not real.” But it was.
“It was a dream.” Kara says carefully, neither agreeing or disagreeing. Esme feels the tilt of Kara’s chin turn upward, toward a shadow in the doorway.
“Sometimes I get nightmares too,” Kara says. Her voice is steady and inviting and Esme knows a bit about the nightmares that make up her aunt’s world.
