“Yes?” Seokjin asks, taking a baby-step forward. His shoulders look a bit out of place in proportion to his head, like he’s shrinking into his figure.
This can’t be good
But then, what other alternative does he have?
Namjoon has never been a stagnant person, his mother keeps tabs on him every week to check he hasn’t done something stupid and impulsive like shave his head and get rid of 90% of his possesions. Why would he shy away from a possibility like this? He’s not that fond of people, as a general concept, but the last time he granted himself the chance to explore his curiosity towards someone…he got lucky.
And what is luck if not a reminder of the infinite options we have? Of the fact that chances are so miniscule and delicate, they can be easily shattered into smithereens if not handled correctly.
Namjoon knows, he’s had experience, so he takes a chance.
Or: Seeing the boy with the long bangs and embroidered jean jacket, several possibilities open up in front of Namjoon, but he takes his time to explore each, one at a time.

Summary
Arthur and Merlin are truly a one of a kind type of couple. Every year since they first started dating, they celebrate their "Official First Meeting Anniversary" (which they probably give more attention to than their actual dating anniversary). The particular part of it is that they use it mainly as an excuse to invite all of their common friends over for what is basically a game night and dinner.
This year, after letting most of the guests crash on different spots of their house, they stay up a little later to reminisce about the fun night and just gush about how much they love each other.

That is, until he stumbles in a little teahouse by accident and meets a very charming shopkeeper who makes him forget both the pressures weighing him down and how to breathe. Together, they create a warm little haven for themselves, even if it's not what fate intended for them.
Author’s note: while this fic does take place in the universe of Avatar the Last Airbender, you need not have watched the series to understand this fic as it is heavily focused on seungjin’s relationship. I will provide all necessary context in the notes (mainly a bit of background of the world and names of places don’t worry) so that anyone can read this if they’d like!

Hyunjin gulped on instinct. He's so beautiful. How did he not notice before?
“I-it's 24 hours,” Hyunjin choked past the lump in his throat. “And I didn't fall in love.”
Are you sure about that?
Hyunjin made the journey to Prophe-Seungs fully expecting to get his money back, and leave. Make five-minute pleasantries with Seungmin, and then push through the carved wooden door with his well earned five dollars back in his wallet, where it belongs. Never to return.
He was wrong. He was living a 24 hour lie, but everything has become clear as the mental fog within faded, now replaced with the dissipating smog of freshly lit incense.
Hyunjin doesn't want a refund.
He wants Seungmin.

Summary
The two of them get engaged the summer after graduation. The announcement makes front page news in the Korean Herald and Hyunjin’s mom puts a clipping of it on the fridge right next to a copy of Seungmin’s senior thesis paper and acceptance letter into Harvard Business School. It’s the first time Hyunjin’s ever been featured there post-elementary school, when his macaroni art was just slightly more advanced than the other kids in his class, and the sight of it leaves a bitter taste in his mouth because he did nothing to deserve the spot of honor. Unless the culmination of his life’s success is simply marrying Kim Seungmin.
Hyunjin’s tasked with picking out their engagement rings, a pair of golden Tiffany bands. He sends Seungmin’s to him in the mail. His mom has to text Hyunjin the address. He doesn’t have Seungmin’s number saved in his phone.
