Summary
Steve will come back, like he always does, and Eddie'll let Steve have his way, like he always does. The problem is that, even though it didn’t work, Eddie might’ve taken Steve’s advice a bit too seriously. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about that split second of Steve’s skin on his own. The warmth of it, the soft slide.
Eddie shifts in his pants again, intentionally this time.

He strides forward, determined, and grabs a stunned Steve by his cheeks before pressing their lips together.

He looks so hurt and indignant in the way only Dustin can, and maybe it’s not too late to run out after Steve and make their case for the beers again if it means the kid’ll stop frowning and looking at Eddie like that. It takes a minute for his words to sink in.
Eddie blinks. “What.”
“What do you mean, what? You kissed!”
“No, we didn’t,” Eddie scoffs.
Except, yes, they did. Realization crashes over him, the force of it stunning him into silence.
Steve kissed him. On the lips. Like it was nothing, like it was something they did every day.
And Eddie hadn’t even blinked or shoved him away or registered it at all, just returned the kiss and went right back to bossing Steve around, as if the whole fucking thing was the most natural thing in the world.

What’s embarrassing is watching the people who’ve only known him the past three years, four years, realize that the Ian they’ve known all this time has had this side to him all along. That Anthony coming back was all it took to bring this side of Ian back.
What’s embarrassing is seeing them retroactively realize that he’s spent the past six years depressed.
What’s embarrassing is he himself realizing this, because he’d mostly thought he’d been fine.

“Bob,” a chorus of voices echoes, as six hands gesture emphatically toward the reading chair.
Wilson glances back and forth between Walker and Bob, his frown deepening. “You are saying these two are … engaged?” he asks, suspiciously.
Yelena cannot blame him for having questions. Positioned on opposite sides of the room, not quite looking at each other, both very clearly unhappy with current developments, Walker and Bob certainly don’t look like a couple of newly engaged lovebirds. If anything, they look divorced.
