Summary
We know now that we cannot infect her this way. But as she kisses us back, as we bite her lip the way only 73% of the women she's been with who are part of us discovered she likes, we pretend for a moment–
Of our gift in our saliva entering her bloodstream through the cut we have made in her lip. Of her joining us, becoming one with us. The tang of Carol's blood on our tongue and the knowledge it represents sends heat between Zosia's legs, fueling the fire that Carol's messy kisses and wandering hands had begun to stoke there.

An enchanting twinkle emblazoned her eyes, one Carol recognized from bookstores, bars, ice hotels, and most importantly this exact spot.
“Is it so hard to believe we enjoy being around you?”

“What do you all dream about, anyway,” Carol asked.
“Colors,” Zosia said. “And language, sound. Architecture.”
Carol lifted her head. “Architecture?”
Zosia either smiled with just one side of her mouth — which was new — or Carol could only see one side — which was also new. In either case, her own mouth felt dry.
“Systems,” Zosia said. “Simplicity. We’re interested in continuity.”

“Not that I don’t enjoy scorching on the outskirts of New Mexico with you—” she starts off, her hand trailing from Zosia’s chin in order to card through chlorine-tipped stray hairs. “—But I’m going to burn through my reading list eventually… hah, I never thought that would be something I’d say and believe.”
Read to your heart's desire, Carol—we’ll wait on sun-baked earth and in country club pools for however long it takes; recover the texts lost to the Library of Alexandria if you must.
—or, snapshots of the world's most delusional honeymoon period.

"Wow," Carol's eyes go wide and she shrugs with amusement. "All the brains in the world, and you can't navigate a fucking pronoun!"
They love Carol. And if referring to themselves as I will make her happy, they'll try their best.

“Turn me back. Please, please, Carol. Please, I want to go back!”
Carol reaches for Zosia, then doesn’t.
“I don’t think that’s possible,” she says.

“I’m one of the lit managers,” the woman explains.
“Yet you can’t manage to take a hint," Carol retorts. "I’m not in the mood for conversation.”
It’s meant to be rude — to get this beautiful, annoying woman to leave her alone once and for all — but instead, the corner of her mouth curves into a smirk. Carol hates how sexy she finds it. “Clever wordplay,” she commends. “You really are a writer.”
Or: After sending dozens of query letters with no success, Carol reluctantly goes to a literary speed-dating event to try to find representation. There, she meets Helen.

Her fingers curl up, muscle memory, shifting in slow, cautious movements inside of you. Inside of your flesh, your muscle, your torso. Inside of a unit of flesh, a unit of muscle, a unit of bones. You are, of course, simply another unit of muscle—-but you are a unit of muscle with Her buried deep inside, the second best thing to a joining.

“At least you are consistent with your body horror tropes,” she mumbles, disturbed and intrigued for the wrong reasons all at once. If she lingers any longer on that matter, she might have to wipe off her just eaten breakfast from the kitchen floor.
Zosia says nothing to that. Why would the Venus flytrap be concerned with the fly it has already successfully trapped?

Carol hadn’t had a haircut in well over a month and it was starting to get longer than she liked, brushing just past the tops of her shoulders. “We can give you a haircut,” Zosia had said that morning, and Carol had agreed, because of course they could. They’d do anything if they thought it would make her happy. Besides, what else did she have to do that day... (post 1x07)

Summary
Unable to find Laudna, Imogen reflects on the ways that she has failed her before remembering what she does have to offer. Spoilers for Ep. 77/78.
-
It was a mistake, letting her go on her own. It was such a stupid thing to do, such a selfish thing to do. Lauda had seemed to know what she needed, and Imogen was distracted by her anger at Ashton and the tension among the rest of the Hells, caught up in the ridiculous thought that she could somehow be useful in the fallout while everyone got themselves together.
She should’ve known that Laudna needed someone with her, that she would’ve been hesitant to ask anyone, especially Imogen, to come with her if she thought she was at risk of losing control. She would’ve realized, if she’d thought about it for more than a second. But she didn’t. She chose to let Laudna go and to turn her focus back to Ashton and the rest of that fuckery.
It was a mistake, and Laudna paid for it.
Laudna was always paying for other people’s mistakes. For Imogen’s mistakes.

Summary
She couldn’t even say it had been impossible, she knew she could’ve done it — she could’ve saved them all. But she picked Chloe. And as horrible, as tragic, as devastating as the choice had been, Max knew it was the only option she would ever choose. Even if she woke up tomorrow and found the date on the calendar was October 7th, she would make the same choice. A thousand times. An infinite amount of times.
To her, to Max, it would always be Chloe. Nothing in the fucking world would ever change that.
Max made it out alive with Chloe at her side, swearing to never use her powers again. But leaving the past behind isn’t as easy as she thought it’d be, especially with the weight of grief and guilt hanging over her shoulders. Luckily, they’re in it together — and nothing will ever tear them apart...Right?
Or, the ups and downs of what happened between 2013 - 2024 as told from Max's perspective.

Summary
Imogen Temult is the Head Detective of The Liminal Agency, a company that on paper does not exist. For those parties that know, or are determined enough to find someone specializing in subconscious detective work, hers is the name they call.
Her latest case brings up a long standing conspiracy that had been buried before she’d come into this field, and is now rising to the surface as a slew of prominent murders are connected to a cruel couple, thought to be long gone.
At the center of it, someone from her past that has no memory of ever knowing her, who may be a pawn in someone else’s game if she doesn’t move fast enough.
