Summary
He couldn’t be distracted from what he had to do. Not by the nagging knowledge that they would end up a tragedy like disposable Michael Shelley, like the Sasha who wasn’t, like awful, perfect Tim, like whoever Daisy Tonner could’ve been, like Basira and Melanie and Georgie might yet be, like, like, like. If Martin let it, grief would consume him again. Maybe numbness would save him from what Somewhere Else could have for him. He knew it wouldn’t. But maybe it would save him now.
.......or, martin takes matters into his own hands and gets a do-over. everyone suffers.

Summary
It is disproportionately confusing, like showing up at his home address only to find a different house on the lot. It isn’t like that, though. No part of this should feel wrong.
Noel’s fingers are touching his wrist. “John?”
“It’s fine.”
“You know,” Noel says, moving to get the bandages. “You’re only a little better at lying these days, daffodil.”
