Summary
They are more similar than they thought. The strength they find in each other builds the strength they find in themselves. My collection of Bucky/Sharon drabbles. Because I'm an active believer that they'd be an amazing power couple and the show is making me anxious to see these two interact more.

Summary
Matt is happy for his best friend and he’s excited to celebrate with him, but he’s not yet drunk enough to forget Sylvie and the boys are at home having fun without him. It’s weird being out without at least one of them with him. For the past several months he’s been at work, at home, or at the boys’ school with the occasional drop in at Molly’s.
A club like the one they rented out for Severide’s bachelor party is a whole new world for him.
So is the buzz he’s currently feeling. Being buzzed is different than being drunk. When buzzed, Matt’s ability to compartmentalize disappears and the floodgates open to all his doubts and fears. Or to questions he’s been pondering for months now. He’s had one single question in the back of his mind and he’s refused to let himself think about it.
He’s convinced himself it would be rocking the boat and he would rather keep sailing smoothly than risk capsizing his relationship.
But now he’s alone in the back of the club with a little too much whiskey in him and doubting his decision.

Summary
Matt’s never seen the back of this ambo before.
He’s been parked on the back bumper of 61 many times. For a forced rest or to let Mikami or Shay tend to him. But he’s never spared 36 more than a passing glance.
Until today.
Upon stepping out of that apartment building fire, he was struggling to breathe. It didn’t take long for the PIC on 36, the nearest ambulance to his location, to spot him. He tried his best to put her off and go back inside, but she essentially blackmailed him with a write up if he didn’t take a break.
So now he’s sitting on the back bumper of an ambulance he’s never seen before — not even in passing on a huge multi-rig call — willing himself to breathe. He’s still struggling to inhale and exhale without coughing, but he’ll begrudgingly admit that taking off his oxygen tank and SCBA was the right movie. It’s helped immensely.
The PIC hands him a water bottle, tossing her blonde french braided hair to one shoulder as she does. “Better?” Her expression is more patient than he deserves at the moment.

Summary
A one shot collection that is a continuation of the good/right/real universe. Now featuring a one shot set after 5x22:
They’ve gone several days without telling anyone about their engagement. Keeping it a secret feels wrong but also like the correct decision. Temporarily anyway.
At first, she lets making sure Matt is okay take precedence. They agreed they would celebrate once he was discharged from the hospital, which was yesterday, but even after that being there for Mouch and Trudy feels bigger and more urgent. As soon as they’re able to, they intend to join the rotation of people who will sit in the cardiac ICU with Mouch and Trudy. They make a decision to put off any announcements to 51 until they know Mouch is going to pull through.

CHICAGO PD SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT WHO STOLE AMBULANCE
The headline alert pops up on Matt’s phone as he’s getting ready for work. Apple regularly alerts him to news they think he’ll be interested in and the accuracy of their insight never ceases to worry and amaze him. Smart phones and the internet are useful but creep him the hell out sometimes.
Whatever they used to seek out and present this headline to him is right on because this is exactly the kind of news he needs to see. Does he want to see it? No, but he needs to know what’s happening in his city, especially to his colleagues.
“Did you see this?” He asks Kelly as he passes him for the coffeemaker.
“Seriously?” Severide asks as he glances over the headline on Matt’s phone. “A city ambo or a private one?”
“Private,” Matt answers as he skims the article. “But the guy was dressed in turn outs apparently. After he stole the ambo he stole an old man’s car, saying he needed it for an emergency.”
Severide rolls his eyes. “They better find this idiot. The last thing we need is some guy out there giving us a bad name.”

Summary
He doesn’t want to be asked questions he can’t answer. Is that so wrong? Yes, okay, he and Brett talk a lot. More and more frequently as time goes on, actually. But he doesn’t know what that means to her. He’s come to terms with what he feels for Sylvie. He knows it’s not platonic. He crossed that line a long time ago. The problem is that accepting what he feels and doing something about it are two separate issues.
She’s been through a lot this year and the last thing he would want is to pile on. Plus, if he makes a move and she doesn’t have feelings for him then their friendship might never be the same. He likely wouldn’t get to be there for her like he has been lately and it’s important to him to be able to support her. He’d rather maintain the status quo than push the envelope and lose her.
