Every inch of the tiny sketchbook she’d shoved in her bag was covered, and her one pencil was now a stub. If she scratched any more loth-cats into the T-6’s walls, Ahsoka would kick her out. The pigments the Noti used as a kind-of paint barely dented her craving. She needed to sketch. She needed charcoal, and real paper. She needed to draw shadow and light, emotion, depth. She needed an out.
Lately she had resorted to scribbling in the dirt with sticks, like a child. It was better than nothing. And that’s where Ahsoka found her that morning, sitting just outside the Noti camp, making lines in the dark, dusty soil.

"My master—did you know? That Anakin—that he became—" Ahsoka chokes up, a sob lodged in the back of her throat. She looks back at him, and despite the mask he deploys, she must read something from him—be it from his face or through the Force—because her face falls. A moment passes before it twists in rage.
