The noise of the TV caught Adam’s attention, and he poked his head into the living room as he passed. Scott was awake, cast in the cool glow of the screen. The living room was easily the most comfortable room in the apartment, and judging by the glisten on Scott’s bare shoulders, Adam gathered he’d probably gotten overheated in his own room. “Hey man.”
Scott looked over his shoulder to Adam, a sympathetic, subtle pull to the corner of his mouth at the sight of him. Adam, too, was shirtless, his chest a subtle, near constant state of pink since the heatwave began. “Too hot?”
“Fuckin’ miserable.” Adam ruffled his hand over his hair with a yawn. “I’m gonna grab a glass of water. You want one?”
“Sure.” Scott nodded and turned back to the TV, flipping through channels as Adam made his way into the kitchen.

Adam slumped his shoulders and rolled his eyes dramatically before dropping the controller and grabbing Scott by the chin. Before Scott could piece together what was happening, Adam had pressed their mouths together, exhaling the smoke past his lips. Scott gasped, and it pulled the smoke into his lungs quicker than normal, causing him to choke, much to Adam’s amusement. “There. Big fuckin’ baby.” He picked the controller back up and unpaused the game. “I’ve got more in my room, there’s a bag in my nightstand. Go grab it and roll us another and quit your bitching.”
“You’re really gonna act like you didn’t just fucking kiss me, dude?!”
The game on the screen was still taking the brunt of Adam’s attention, and his eyes stayed glued to the TV as he spoke. “I didn’t kiss you. It’s called shotgunning.”
