It was a sisyphean task. Loving someone.
Ronin felt like he could never love anyone right. He was too scared of messing it all up, of ruining someone else like he always managed to do. Of getting in too deep and caring so one sided it hurt him all in the end.
He was so scared of caring too much.
Dareth had never felt like he could get love right. He always went in too eager and foolhardy, so sure that this time it would have to work out. That this one was the one that would finally stay. That he would get it right this time.
He was scared of always being too much for someone to care about.
Dareth was always too eager and Ronin was always too cowardly.
Of course it wouldn't work out.
