Summary
Song fic, based extremely loosely on the lyrics of the Pink Floyd Song, “Lucifer Sam.” A minor AU set after the events of Season 7 episode 1. Bobby sends the boys off on a case in coastal Maine. As they drive cross country, Sam struggles in his efforts to hold it together. And there is this damn cat, who is inexplicably following them everywhere and making Dean increasingly paranoid. Even getting to Maine looks to be increasingly in doubt as both of them deteriorate in their own way.

He exercises a lot. A whole fucking lot. Push-ups, pull-ups, jumping squats. He jogs in the same spot until he can feel his heart tear out of his chest. He works himself out to the level of exhaustion so he can drop down and faint. It never happens, so he punches the walls bloody and breaks the only table in the room. He tries to do the same to the locked door. It doesn't give, never does.
Where is Lucifer?
Or,
The cage is a brutal place to be. That is, if it's a place at all. Faced with a constant threat of total ego annihilation, Sam has to either take it, or cozy up with the Devil. In Hell, there's a price to pay for self-preservation.
Pleasant conversations, age-old questions, terrible terrible consequences. This is a bleak and claustrophobic story on the tenderness and the savagery of making friends with the Prince of Darkness.

Cas starts to laugh.
A confused question is on the tip of Sam's tongue, but then he looks up. And Cas is smiling, in a way both gentle and pleased with himself, and Sam feels a cold horror all the way to his bones because it doesn't matter whose face it's on, that expression is horrifyingly familiar. No villain monologue required, no big reveal necessary. Sam knows.
"I will touch your soul," Lucifer says, "because you asked so nicely for it, Sam. Thank you." He's still smiling as he reaches out a hand. Sam flinches away, scrambling back until he's backed against the closest pillar, eyes locked on the being that was his world and his agony for five hundred years.
The Morningstar reaches for Sam's soul, and once again, He is his agony. He is his world.

Summary
Sam’s shot Dean before, to slow him down when Sam got a little too smart while he was still coming down from a kill with the Blade and Dean lost control, a quick bullet to the knee. And he’d do it again.
Though, Sam realized driving away from the ER that night, blood still on the seats of the Impala and Dean seething through the pain meds in the backseat, He wouldn’t have actually killed me. He would never be able to kill Sammy.

Summary
Ever since Dean’s transformation into a knight of Hell, Sam has been following the trail of mangled bodies left in his brother’s wake. His goal is to save Dean, but blind in his pursuit, he fails to see the trap set for him. He discovers that not only has his brother found a new, sinister purpose, he’s also found a partner in Abaddon. As their prisoner, Sam struggles to survive and remain a good man, while Dean attempts to twist and mold him into a servant of Hell. Of course, Sam expects to be tortured, but the lengths that his captors will go to in order to break him is only comparable to the absurdity of what they want from him.
