There’s an old Asian guy standing at the end of his bed when Johnny wakes up, frowning at him like he’s a disappointment to him, personally.
It wouldn’t be the first time he’s woken up to someone already disappointed with him, but so far it’s mostly been people he knows: first his mom, then whoever he was sleeping with at the time, and not an elderly Japanese man he’s never met before who’s apparently broken into his apartment in the middle of the night. Just seems like a lot of effort to go to to express disappointment – the guy doesn’t have a phone?

But it's not all bad. There might just be one other person in the entire Valley who gets Daniel; really really gets him, never mind the fact that their relationship is limited exclusively to texting. And also that Daniel has absolutely no idea who he is. It's fine. Really. What could go wrong?
