Summary
In the back of his mind, Keigo thinks he might be suffocating, though he isn’t sure if it’s from the diminishing supply of oxygen in the air or from the weight of the words that Dabi had just dropped upon him.
(A mini-fic in which I acknowledge that canon is real and it is happening and boy, is that depressing enough for Day 7's theme of 'angst' for DabiHawks week.)

33 year-old Keigo is pretty sure 23 year-old Keigo couldn’t have predicted this.

Summary
"We are actually so fucking washed," Shane bitches. "I'm never getting better and you are stuck on a losing team that sucks. Everyone is going to forget about us."
"Don't make me trip you," Ilya says, calmly. "Let's do another lap."
"No," Shane barks. Ilya raises his eyebrows.
Shane refuses to accept this. This perpetual cycle of suck. When he invited Ilya to his cottage almost four years ago now, he didn't expect their relationship to turn into their fucking burial ground.
Shane finds himself grounded in Ottawa for the foreseeable future. With his newfound free time, he hangs out with his family, eats Costco Rotisserie chicken, and whips Ilya Rozanov back into a champion.

Summary
It's embarrassing enough that Shane wanders off his hiking trail and goes missing for two days, but thanks to Hayden's big mouth, everyone knows he was recently dumped, and they have a lot of wrong opinions about why Shane disappeared.

Hayden is a good friend. The best, probably.
Sometimes good friends have to do bad things, to protect the people they love.
Or,
What if the fanmail leak wasn't an accident?

Summary
Hollander rolled his eyes. “Just friendly advice. You know, if you want everyone to keep comparing us.”
“No,” Ilya replied sombrely, as he reached the gate. “Your goal — very ugly. I make only pretty goals.”
There was an outraged noise behind him, but Ilya was already turning away, knowing he was never going to find a better parting shot in English than that.
Ilya could see exactly why other players were so frustrated when going up against Shane Hollander, and how much his comments might sting when directed at someone who was already on the back foot. But he was left with the distinct impression of a colourful little bird, darting about where he believed he was just out of reach, and Ilya wanted more than anything to catch him.
According to the rest of the league, Shane Hollander was an asshole, but Ilya thought he was kind of hilarious. Plus, there were all the freckles.
