The title, Na Binne an Leann, means "The Sweeter the Ale" - which is the second part of an old Scottish saying that I just totally made up for this story. The whole quote goes "An teotha na grùdaireachd na binne an leann", which translates to "The hotter the brewing, the sweeter the ale"....meaning basically "the more you go through to be together, the stronger your love will be."

I don't have a great prompt, but this odd thought is in my head about a way to make the comic plot about Theoric and the marriage into something about marriage by proxy? Maybe something like Loki has the duty of proxy-marrying Sigyn cos Theoric's in the army, and totally plays everyone by going the whole hog and appearing as Theoric, but then Sigyn, who thought Theoric was dull as ditchwater and Loki is... well, y’know, Loki, petitions it as a real legit marriage between the two of them?”

Allerdale Hall, the Sharpes' dilapidated mansionSummary: It is painfully clear that Thomas and Lucille can never bare children together. As brother and sister the only thing that could come of such a union would be sickly, poorly and improperly formed creatures that suffered and died before their first year. However, if they wished for the Sharpe family and name to continue, they knew they had to secure a legacy. They had to have children in their family.
Lucille decides that the best way to do this was to find a suitable young woman, a girl of child baring age with no family, would be the perfect solution. Thomas had married before to get the money they needed to survive on occasion and further his research. This would be no different then those instances only this time they would be rewarded with something far more valuable to them then gold or property.
