Izuku Midoriya doesn't remember his past, but with a loving family he figures it doesn't really matter. Thanks to thier support (and a lot of intensive training) he continues to pursue his dream of being a great hero even if its not the kind he wanted to be. That is until the #1 hero tells him he can be that kind of hero. Not only that but he wants to give him his quirk! Only one problem, All Might already gave his quirk to some unknown hero. And he hates Izuku for some reason. Things can't ever be easy can they?

If the last two years were a dream, there would be no way that Izuku would still hold One for All. He would be alone.
"Look ahead, left side."
Izuku's face has been carefully hidden on his desk, the same way it always is when he dreams of career day. Slowly, he sits up. Leaning his head against his arm, he tilts his head so that he can look to the left.
Kacchan is staring at him. His chest heaves like he's run a marathon in a moment. Sweat drips down his arms, shimmering with the oily shine of nitro, as he grips his desk. He looks rattled, but he's got his game face on.
Do you know? He seems to ask silently. Are you with me?
Izuku straightens the rest of the way, trying to carefully balance alertness with the appearance of meekness. He looks Kacchan dead in the eyes and nods.

“Well what do you propose we do?” They have had this conversation or similar ones so many times he already knows what Kacchan is going to say.
“Well wouldn't you rather die trying than just sitting here waiting for the water to fill the cave and kill us anyway.” and while that had been true for himself in earlier rounds. It's different now that Izuku believes that he may be reliving this scene for the rest of eternity.
“Kacchan I'm not quitting, I'm tired, I just need a little break” He would rather not face death yet again so soon. He hasn't even caught his breath from his last swim with Uraraka yet.
Izuku knows what is going to happen next. His friend is going to yell at him, call him names and they are going to get back into that death pool and swim until they suffocate again.
Once they go down, there is nowhere to come up for air. There is nothing but dark cave walls and water filled lungs awaiting them.
Of course it's the same if they stay, it will just take longer, if they wait for the tide to fully come in.

Shouta slid the door open to his class, sighing. He’d been having a terrible day today. It started with his phone dying because he forgot to charge it last night, hence his alarm not going off. Then, when he tried to have some coffee to make his day better, he realized that he had run out of grounds. And finally, as if that wasn’t enough, his gut feeling was insistently going off about something.
So naturally, he was planning on quickly getting through homeroom and then downing a pot full of coffee once he got to the staff lounge.
The universe, however, loved to mess with him. And the foreboding feeling hit him in a wave as soon as he swept his gaze over his students. One of them stuck out like a sore thumb. And all the others were staring at them with curiosity and confusion.Midoriya, now an adult for some reason, smiled at him. “Eraserhead.”

Midoriya Izuku, 28 years old, one half of the team that makes up Dioscuri. Entirely quirkless, he is the first and possibly only, quirkless pro hero.
Nedzu, the other half of the team that makes up Dioscuri. With the quirk High Specs that granted him increased intelligence. He is the only non-human pro hero in all of the world.
Alone, these two would have never made it into the profession. With quirkless being less and less common with each generation; Izuku was never given any opportunity to follow his dream. Nedzu, being a chimera, wouldn’t have been able to get far on his own. The system was twisted in favor of humans only; animals couldn’t legally be heroes. Alone they were cast out of society.
Together they formed the pro-hero and principle of Yuuei High School: Dioscuri.
Or: the AU where Nedzu and Izuku fake being one hero so that they can utterly wreck the commission for denying their dreams.

Nezu stared at the screen in front of him, unblinking. His soon-to-be students ran across it, some scrambling away from the overpriced and over sized robots, and some towards.
Leaning in closer, he pressed his paw to the monitor, directly over a teenager who was helping up another candidate, gently wrapping a bandage around their arm at a concerningly fast speed.
"That one." He stated, barely resisting the urge to clap his paws together. "I want that one."
Aizawa, who was positioned behind him, leaned forwards slightly, only able to see who the Principal was talking about due to the smudge left from the pad of Nezu's paw. The teacher failed to hide his slight recoil.
"I think I heard him slagging you off under his breath before the written test."

Izuku was standing on a rooftop at the ripe old age of 11, he only left a note for his mom, he had no friends or other family. He knew he'd be hurting his mother but doing this, but she hurt him once. "I'm so sorry, Izuku..." The memory of his mother shutting down his dreams played in his head.
He climbed up and took another step. There was a loud whoosh behind him, followed by a thud of the roof. Someone had joined him.
