Summary
Jedi Master Ben Solo, still grieving the death of his grandfathers Anakin and Bail, is entrusted with the safety of Senator Rey Palpatine after an assassination attempt on her life.
Ben takes this opportunity to spy on her with the intent to bring down the man he hates the most in the galaxy—her grandfather, Chancellor Sheev Palpatine.
However, Rey is nothing like what Ben expected, and now he must try to conciliate his hate for the Chancellor with the unexpected and conflicting feelings, forbidden by the Jedi code, that Rey stirs in him.

Enzo liked Rey. She was a nice young woman with a good head over her shoulders. She lit up the house whenever she was around—like a beam, a ray of sunshine. Her laughter was contagious and her smiles dimpled and warm. Her voice was soft and melodic, with a lilt of a British accent that he found, quite frankly, charming. Regal.
Enzo is captivated by his son’s girlfriend the first time he sees her. He knows she’s off limits and he fights whatever strange and unwelcome feelings she seems to stir in him. However, when he finds out that his son Tai is cheating on her Enzo knows he has to tell Rey even if it means not having her in his life anymore.

Ben rolls over to his side, moving with surprising grace considering that he’s built like a kriffing bantha. His eyes start fluttering open and now… now Rey does touch him. On the arm, just below the elbow which is curled under his head, serving as a makeshift cushion.
“Don’t?”
His eyes slide open all the way, revealing gold-speckled irises. There’s a sharp crease between his brows as he blinks at her in confusion.
“What?”
“Don’t…” Rey chews on her cheek. “Don’t open your eyes. When you’re asleep, when we’re both asleep… it’s easier to pretend that we’re on the same side. When you can’t see me.”
He wets his lips, thinking.
“And you’d like to pretend?” He asks softly, after what feels like a century has passed.
Rey’s eyes meet his and she slowly nods.
Yes.
Please.Or: Some secrets are easier to tell in the dark, when no is listening.
(Or: Rey uses Ben as a Ben-shaped sex toy. Ben doesn’t mind.)
