Summary
"Geto-sama, who's Gojo Satoru anyway? He's super strong right?"
Nanako watches a calloused hand freeze mid-page flip, the other tightening white around his favorite book's cover. Then, as if nothing happened, he completes the action, exhaling softly out of his nose.
"Hm...He was my best friend. But we fought and it's been like this ever since."
It's a solemn answer, one Nanako would have gladly accepted from her father and savior...if only she hadn't heard the sound of his name falling from Geto's lips years prior. She and Mimiko exchange knowing looks.
"Just your best friend?"
Nanako hears her dad choke.
—
Geto Suguru insists he and his ex-best friend have grown apart since he left Jujutsu Tech. Nanako and Mimiko remember things a little differently.
(Where, years before JJK0, Satoru finds Suguru in hiding and wiggles his way back into his ex-best friend’s life, and the twins navigate getting to know "Geto Suguru" before he became "Geto-sama.")

“Okay, so just so we’re on the same page, you met this guy at the café—”
“Yes.”
“Eavesdropped on a personal exchange with his sister—”
“Yup.”
“Then proceeded to argue with him—”
“Uh-huh.”
“Asked him on a date—”
“Yeah.”
“And then stole his wallet?”
“I didn’t steal it,” Dazai defended, arms crossed like a petulant child, “he left it and I took it.”
Kunikida leveled him with a glare. “That’s stealing, Dazai.”
Or:
Dazai is so down bad for a pretty, angry stranger that he resorts to theft— and it works?

To die, or to ask Dazai for help?
Chuuya is so choked by this question that his breakfast is lodged in his throat, unable to be swallowed.

“Chuuya," Dazai starts solemnly. He pitches his voice intentionally low as he pulls on a severe expression. A dramatic sigh leaves his mouth. "I think it’s time we break up."
"Fucking finally," Chuuya snorts. "Now stop whining and do the damn dishes."

Summary
Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya were separated for four long years. And they were reunited a few times after Dazai came out of hiding. Chuuya had learned a few things during the time they spent together, that nothing stayed the same after years of being apart. He wonders why couldn't it just stayed the way it was? Maybe it was him, or maybe it was Dazai. Or maybe he was simply holding onto something that wasn't there anymore. Would he be able to let go?
Dazai Osamu didn't want to. He didn't want Chuuya to let go.
