As he realizes more and more flaws with his memories and the world around him, be begins to realize something much bigger is going on and has to figure out how to fix things. But how is he supposed to fix the world when his own memories are lying to him?

Many had marked their calendars in anticipation of what they were effectively calling “Judgement Day” for one loathsome sinner. The event itself was rather absurdist, the first of its kind, for no sinner had ever caused such an uproar that they demanded a second Judgement post-mortem.
What punishment, everyone thought, would be fitting for a man who made such history?
Once, this creature was a man whose voice and manner were adored by the many who followed him. Now, he stood alone, chained, and without the strength to raise his head.

But when he looked back at Shadow to try and tell him, he noticed Shadow’s eyes were wide as he looked at a certain direction.
“Hey, what are you looking-“
Sonic cut himself off when he saw them.
It was them.
The Sonic and Shadow from this universe, and they had their arms wrapped around each other."
Or basically Sonic and Shadow travel the shatterverse and end up in a reality where they're both dating.
