He had never seen Fushiguro Toji smile. This was new. This was crazy. It was as if Toji had lost twenty years and was smiling. Total madness.

“You know what I love about you?” Takada smiled, tenderness melting Mai’s heart. “That there’s so much to learn.”
Mai tried to muster a response, but her breath had caught in her throat when Takada said ‘love’.
“There’s a fair share of things to learn about me,” Mai managed to say. A speckled moth fluttered into the lightbulb, barrelling down after it struck the glass. “There’s no time to sit through all of that.”
The moth rose back towards the bulb, unfazed by its failure, before crashing into the barrier between it and the light.
“Don’t worry.” Spotted wings flittered yet again. “We have all the time in the world.”
Mai clutched her aching ribs, slicked her hand against the slash. Coughed blood out of her lungs, then immediately regretted it because inhaling air felt like inhaling fire.
Yeah. All the time in the world.

Megumi stops breathing for a second. His grip tightens until it hurts. He looks at Yuuji, eyes wide, caught between panic and something that looks a whole lot like hope.
"Yeah," he says, his voice barely a whisper. "I'd probably let you."

(Luffy was never good at lying or keeping a secret and his new powers certainly aren't helping.)

Luffy laughed and Nami cheered. All the Straw Hats in the room recognized the inspiration for this song—after all, Brook had only seen the whole crew engaged in one ferocious battle before their defeat at Sabaody. Even if the lyrics were talking about “king”, “kingdom”, and “dragon”, there was enough reference to the Straw Hats’ unique traits and abilities that it was clear the musician had written the ballad after Thriller Bark.
Unfortunately, just like in the actual Thriller Bark story, the song did not end after the villain was defeated.

They just mash their stupid bodies together and call it love and they don’t understand anything at all.”

“Are you always like this?” Zoro asks sometime between one day and another, the skin on his nose flaking from the sunburn as they drift on the open sea.
“Like what,” Luffy says, bored out of his mind, his legs thrown on his crewmate’s lap. He picks at his ear, his hat covering his upper face so he doesn’t end up with a dumb itchy nose like Zoro.
A finger taps his ankle. “Like this. Touchy.”
“I guess,” Luffy says, tipping back his hat so he can look at his swordsman. He grins at him and his raised brow. “Never thought about it.” He giggles and tucks his heels into the soft part of Zoro’s thighs.
Zoro hums, but doesn’t do anything else, simply resigned to yet another thing in his life. They already knew each other for a few days.

Despite its innate yearnings to kill the boy, Luffy looked at home at the sea. Zoro watched him from the shoreline, eyes tracing each movement, each jump and stumble against the rocky shore. Luffy would turn to him, smile wide, the breeze carrying his laughter to receptive ears, giving Zoro another chance to hear the sirens sound.
To be caught in the knowing gaze of the captain meant you were seen for all that you are and everything you lack. Zoro found himself caught in the others' vision and yet he was always met with warmth, despite all his shortcomings. Luffy wrapped arms around tanned muscle, entangling himself with his first mate like it was what he was made for, contorting their bodies until their lines blurred.Depollute me gentle angel, and I’ll feel the sickness less and less, come and kiss me, pretty baby, like we’ll never have sex.

The bickering continues. Nami takes a sip of her drink, lips curling in amusement. They really are naive. And Nami can’t help but take advantage of the naive: especially when there’s beli to be made.
“I think we should make this interesting,” Nami announces. “Since you guys can’t agree, let’s have a friendly bet. Everyone puts in and whoever’s right gets the pot.” All of them glance around at each other before back at Nami. She smiles at them. “If you’re going to fight about it, at least make it interesting.”(or, Luffy and Zoro have been married for years. But, with all that beli on the line, Nami isn't about to tell the rest of their nakama that)
