Amelia wasn't going to be asked twice. "Yes, sorry," she replied, making room for Kai to enter the room, but never letting go of their hand.
Her stomach was fluttering with anticipation, but mostly, she felt relief.
"You're actually here," she said, almost in disbelief.

Phillip would have recognised the rhythm of those steps anywhere, and he rushed to the hallway as fast as his feet would carry him.
There stood Benoit, his suitcase beside him, looking at him with a sheepish smile on his face. He looked just like when he had left, and Phillip let out a subconscious sigh when he wasn’t able to spot any visible injuries, but he was considerably tanner than when he had last seen him a few days ago. Damn southerners and their ability to get tan instead of looking like a boiled lobster after a few minutes in the sun.
“You’re back,” Phillip said.
“Honey, I’m home,” was Benoit’s response before kicking the door shut behind him with his foot and closing the distance between them, pulling Phillip in close for a hug.
For a moment, no one said anything, simply enjoying the other’s presence and comfort.
When Benoit returns from his latest case, he has a much-needed conversation with his husband.

The words were soft and low, and Jaskier would have recognized that voice anywhere, even if he had forgotten everything else. Would have recognized its velvety deepness, the way it got hoarse right after waking up and guttural with anger—
Somehow, he restrained himself from throwing his glass against the wall then and there. Instead, he said nothing, just staring straight ahead.
A single word coming out of his mouth would have already been too much.
"I see," Geralt said after what felt like an eternity.
"I apologize, I didn't mean to intrude. I'll leave you be, just try and get home safe."
With that, he turned to get up, and something in Jaskier broke.
Geralt and Jaskier were lovers, and then they weren't. What happens when they run into each other again?
