Neku is a really, really cool guy, Fret thinks. They get along great, which is sorta surprising, seeing as they're total opposites. Neku is chill, and mysterious, and badass, and down-to-earth, and Fret is... Fret. Sometimes he wonders if the real reason they hang out so much is simply because of proximity; after all, they do go to the same high school.
But Fret's wrong. They share a lot more in common than that. -

The man stared for a long time. The smile he bore had been completely wiped clean as he studied the scarring. Zuko’s skin itched with anxiety at the odd attention he was given and shot a scowl at the warrior, startling him out of his thoughts. The man offered an apologetic yet awkward smile as he patted his chest and started to speak. It took Zuko a moment to realize that what was being said was a very horribly butchered attempt at Fire Nation formal language. A horrendous introduction.
“My name is Sokka, son of Chief Hakoda.” He introduced with what the savage may have thought was casual ease judging by the sideways smile and the warmth in his eyes. Then proceeded to ask, pointing at Zuko to get his meaning across. “Your name is Li, right?”
‘Okay so they don’t know who I am.’ Zuko didn’t let his sigh of relief show as he nodded slowly in confirmation.

Zuko slips into the scouting party that is sent on a mission to gather intel on an Earth Kingdom encampment only to be ambushed by Water Tribe warriors and taken as a prisoner of war. Zuko finds himself masquerading as Private Li, the Fire Nation scout as he receives a one way trip to the South Pole.

The future where he is Mikey’s prisoner but who’s treated especially nicely with dorayakis to eat and mangas to read. The future where Mikey jokes with him instead of shooting him. The future where Mikey looks, like, really good. What exactly did Takemichi even manage to change during his last failure of a time leap for everything to end up like this!?

Salazar reaches over to push the shirt up another few inches before he can decide it’s none of his business.
“Jesus Christ,” he breathes.
Rust, all the way up: a tear of it across the kid’s chest, under off-white gauze that should have been changed when Edamura showed up on his doorstep last night if not the day before that. He does quick math in his head: a flight from fuck knows where, a day on either side to go from whatever did this to sitting on a plane to Los Angeles.
A hand wraps around his wrist loosely. When he looks up, Edamura is staring at him, nothing in his eyes but that same tired apology.
“Are you in danger?” Salazar asks.
Edamura smiles wryly. “No. I wouldn’t have brought that to you two.”
