Richie stares at his cousin, both of them panting heavily.
"Under my pillow there is a journal," he starts breathlessly, "with names and numbers on the first page. You– You go home, Mike, you go back and find it; call Bill Denbrough, alright? Call him, tell him our twenty-seven years was bullshit. You tell him that It– IT," he emphasizes the name, "is back, and that I protected you. You run, and you tell him, okay, Michael? You tell him immediately, keep calling him until he picks up."
"Richie, I-I don't–"
"Go!"
Richie turns, meeting the face of his nightmares head on. It grabs his arms, smiling down at him mockingly. Richie bares his teeth in a restless snarl, struggling fruitlessly against It's grip.
"Richie Tozier... what a feast to start my new reign in this backwater town..."
"Think again, you ugly son of a bitch–"
Its face begins to contort, and Richie is helpless to do anything but go limp in the face of three living, dancing lights at the end of a long passage. Time seems to stretch for forever.

Summary
The deviants thought they had been successful, when the human army lowered their weapons and backed off. And for a while, they were– they lived peacefully in Detroit, building their homes and helping liberate those who needed aid. And then the president orders the humans to move in again, to attack any android with the order to kill on sight.
Connor had felt deeply guilty for his role in the near-capture and death of so many he now understands. So he doesn't join Jericho, and it might be this that makes the death of a Jericho leader and the scattering of the rest of the forces deepen his shame. If he had stayed, if he had been closer, maybe he could have helped.
But those musings belong to past Connor, now. Now, he has a job to do.
Save deviants from a new model, one with his face and equipped with technology that far outclasses his own. But Connor hasn't been living as a deviant for months now without learning a few of his own tricks.

Summary
Gavin Reed did not board a giant spaceship to do anything other than act as the head of security and maybe play around in the anti-gravity chambers every now and then. Crashing on a new planet was never on the itinerary, nor is scavenging said (abandoned? to be determined) planet in an effort to survive against a foreign waterborne virus on a world that is entirely covered by fucking water.
He's just a security guard for gods' sake.

The compliments had started small.
“You did good,” Will had murmured, a few hours after the battle, as Mike tried very hard not to cry or pass out and Will clung to consciousness by a breath. And then, the next day, “Thanks for always being there for me. I couldn’t have done it without you.”
Totally normal. Totally Will. Mike could handle that.
But then it… spiralled.
“Your hair looks good today,” Will said one morning in the kitchen while trying (and failing) to pour cereal without spilling half the box.
Or, as they were walking to the Byers’ car: “I love your freckles. You know that, right?”

Will froze. Absolutely froze.
His hand was buried in Mike Wheeler’s hair. Mike - who was practically draped over him now - looked blissful. Borderline euphoric. His eyes had fluttered half-shut. There was a tiny, content smile on his lips.
Will stared down at him, heart doing somersaults.
“Uh,” Will said intelligently.
Mike made another sound - soft, almost dreamy - and nudged Will’s hand, encouraging, needy without even realising it.
Will’s brain short-circuited.

The first time Will runs his fingers through Mike’s hair, it’s an accident.
The second time… maybe not so much.
Before long, Mike is leaning into every touch, Will is desperately trying not to make it weird, and the Party is very, very done with them.

Shut up, shut up, shut up, the voice in his head screams by now, but one cannot interrupt Will in the middle of one of his art rants. Impossible. No chance. “And with the vastness of the sky or sea, blue is also often associated with distance, longing, yearning, and— stuff.”
