“Promise?” Jake knows better than to ask, because Sunghoon’s word is absolute. Still, Sunghoon reaches for his hand. He intertwines their fingers and nods.
“Then,” Jake says softly, “can you kiss me?”
Despite being a faceless being in his visions, Jake has imagined Sunghoon kissing him more than he’d like to admit. If it’s a sin to do so, Jake will rip his heart out of his chest and risk damnation.

The stark difference between Jay, stripped bare and vulnerable, and Jake, fully clothed as he holds Jay on his lap and strokes his cheek, makes Sunghoon’s face hot. Jake, who usually seems so small in contrast to Jay, looks powerful like this. Seductive. He’s stupidly attractive to Sunghoon all the time, even when it makes no sense for him to be, when he annoys Sunghoon or he’s messy or doesn’t take anything seriously, but right now Sunghoon can’t think of anything except—he can’t think at all.

It didn’t bother him that it was all just fun for Sunoo, because it was also fun for Jungwon – it didn’t matter what else it may or may not mean to him. He’d made peace long ago with the fact that he was in love with his best friend, at the same time that he’d made peace with the fact that Sunoo seemed to want just about anyone but Jungwon.
