“Well, then, forgive me for getting it wrong, ‘world’s greatest detective,’” Toto said, washing his hands at the kitchen sink.
“You're pardoned, partner of the world's greatest detective,” Ron retorted, pretending to bow.
Toto laughed, bowing in return. One by one, he took out the snacks from the bag — some biscuits, marshmallows for some reason, and an amount of brown sugar syrup that was enough to give any normal person diabetes. Ron decided to arrange cat food for a certain feline sleeping on the floor of sloth.
It was his turn to guess and this time, Ron hummed aloud in thought. The most obvious option, orange, was crossed out. Could it be some obscure color? He glanced at Toto’s outfit — a yellow T-shirt and blue jeans — and internally sighed. If only they had named a colour ‘cute’.
Or, Ron and Toto handle groceries — and guess each other's favourite colour in between?!

Summary
Toto watched his actions, strangely transfixed. Did they teach this at BLUE as well? Ron’s expression was intent, meticulous hands working their magic — five years of disappearance and, apparently, he had acquired the ability to paint nails like an artisan.
“Unfortunately,” Ron said smoothly, without looking up, “BLUE doesn't offer courses in matters of such importance. Truly, a shame. They’d never learn how to paint their partner's nails properly.”
Toto choked on air.
He flushed instantly, snapping his mouth shut. Of course a detective academy wouldn’t teach nail polish application! Ugh, it was a stupid thought to have in the first place.
Or, Ron paints Toto's nails (and they are better than Amamiya's for some reason).

Summary
Something wasn’t clicking.
It had been a perfectly normal day for Kamonohashi Ron: Toto arrived with a case, they solved it, Ron’s 'criminal-killing' gaze activated (as usual), and he collapsed at home afterward. Mundane, in a catastrophically normal way.
Except… it didn’t feel normal.His body felt weird.
A flutter tightened in his chest, warm and unsettling under his skin. His pulse stuttered; his palms dampened; even his steps had an eccentric, involuntary skip.
Kamonohashi Ron, the Greatest Detective in the World, was undeniably… confused.
Was he having a heart attack?
Or, something is wrong with Kamonohashi Ron. Terribly, catastrophically wrong. His chest is fluttering, his stomach is twisting, and his cheeks keep overheating around Toto.
Ron thinks it's poison. Toto knows it's not. -

Clink.
The handcuffs clicked shut around his wrists. His hands were cuffed with precision, firm but not harsh — a touch Ron couldn't ignore. But that shouldn't have happened. Ron should've been plotting his escape from the situation but all he wanted to do was to reach out — touch the detective's hair and see if it were really as soft as it looked.
"You're under arrest, Kamonohashi Ron, for serial murders all throughout Japan. Anything you may say or do can be used against you in court, so it'll be better if you restrict your movements."
Oh.
Oh, no.
It was love at first sight — which was unfortunate, because Ron had just been arrested.

Summary

L's the world's greatest detective and Light runs the House cultivating a new generation of geniuses into useful positions. They're rivals first and family second. But Watari suggests, in case of emergencies, it makes sense for them to legally be each other's next of kin. Light's not so sure he wants to marry L, despite the logic of the suggestion, but L's seemingly on board with the idea. Or is it his idea in the first place...?
