When he becomes a leading character in the anonymous letters, well, he gets a little more curious. Lance becomes determined to unveil the writer and find out a) what is his problem exactly and b) does he really think Lance's eyes are that blue?

“Whatcha doin?” Jason blinked a few times and looked up from his knees to see another boy kneeling in front of him. He had curly black hair that fell around his ears in a messy cloud and big brown eyes that stared at Jason like he was looking at a very interesting bug. His ears were pointed like one of Santa’s elves, and he had a big black smear on his cheek. Jason stayed silent, and the boy raised one eyebrow, which Jason still hadn’t learned how to do. “Well? Whatcha doin?”
Jason sniffled and rubbed the tears off his cheek. “Havin’ a birthday party.”
The boy looked around the little playground alcove, clearly unimpressed. “This isn’t a very good party.”
