He is a mess and struggling; lord knows he needs a break.
Shiro and Adam make Keith go out more.
Cue a meet-cute with our favourite dork.He wasn’t angry at her, not really. He was furious at everything: at the space where his mother used to be, at the father who never showed, at the universe for handing him a baby he wasn’t ready for.
But Kira didn’t know any of that.
She just knew her big brother had raised his voice. Keith closed his eyes and inhaled shakily through his nose.
“Okay.” He forced the breath out slowly. “Okay, we’re not doing that again. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
Kira’s cries softened into hiccups. Keith tucked her against his chest, her cheek hot and wet against his skin. She was so small. Too small for his anger. Too small for any of this.
He started rocking, slowly at first, then in a steady rhythm.
The chair creaked. The room swam in dim moonlight.
“Please, Kira,” he whispered, voice cracking. “Just… help me out, okay? I’m trying. I’m really trying.” -

Lance thought everything would be better once he found his resolve. Once he was finally able to get his shit together and stop antagonizing Keith 24/7. He thought once he got his emotions under control they'd finally be able to move past their differences, work together as a team, see eye-to-eye on something for once.
But he'd never been great at anticipating Keith's reactions to, well... anything, really.
After crash landing on an isolated planet with no way of contacting the castle for rescue, Lance is forced to face the repercussions of ignoring the red paladin for an entire month. After everything he'd put Keith through, after everything Keith had put him through... they can put aside petty feelings of jealousy, envy, and loneliness long enough to stay alive for rescue, right?

Keith, as a member of the Blade, was always busy and wether or not Christmas was coming around, the Blade had to help alot of people. It was more than just a fulltime job.
"I swear", Keith replied:"Kolivan promised that they could live without me for a few days. I deserve it. We deserve it. Don't worry, I will be there, not later than 20:00."
"No need to stress. I'll just try to delay the booking for our table. Until later, alright?"

Keith groans. Determined to catch up to Lance, he felt his ribs ache as he drew in more air. How was this lanky clown so fast? Whatever, Keith continued to sprint, fixing his posture and angling his arms in the right way, just before he took off at high speeds. When it's like this, Keith recalls seeing nothing but the blurred lines of trees, a purple haze coming from the corner of his eyes, and the sounds of his shaky, panting breath. Keith never really understood why he got like this when extremely focused on something. He certainly doesn't understand why he feels so provoked to prove himself around Lance.

Lance was in pain. Lance was hurting. Lance was growing a garden in his lungs. It was choking him, killing him slowly. But he, being the stubborn boy he is, refused to tell anyone. Why would he? He was expendable, right? He could afford to be replaced. Telling the team would only worry them and put another burden on their shoulders. Besides, they had a galaxy to save, they had no time for Lance’s little issues. He’d just do what he would always do, bite down and bear it with a smile.
And seeing Lance do that to himself was eating Keith up from the inside.
It’s not like this was easy on Keith either. The fact that Lance had contracted this god-awful disease means that he loved someone. And that someone didn’t love him back. Sure, Keith’s own tattoos confused him but at least he could live with a body covered in flower tattoos. Lance can’t live with lungs full of roses.

“Lance?” Keith says, at the very same time that Lance reaches out and pulls Keith down. Keith, unprepared, lets out a shrill sound as he collapses on top of Lance, scrambling to pull himself off. Lance is sick, and drenched, and shivering, and Keith, as the only one with a clear head, feels he has some responsibility.

Before Keith can get very far, Lance cups his face, pressing their foreheads together. Keith’s eyes flit rapidly between his own. Keith seems to realise Lance isn’t planning on letting him go. His face turns a little red. “Your eyes are very brown.”

Summary
Keith Kogane has grown up with the Blade of Marmora. Kolivan is like a father figure to him, Thace and Ulaz are like uncles to him, and he's lived with his mother his entire life. When his mother goes missing in action, he's told she's dead. Keith knows she's alive, though.
After regretfully running away from the only place he's known as home, he goes on a search for his mother. He soon finds one of his uncles after infiltrating a Galra ship, he finds himself helping a human find his way to Earth, a place he's only dreamed of.
Keith finds himself traveling across the galaxy making a name for himself, all while trying to keep the secret of his Galra heritage a secret, playing as another victim of the Galra Empire and trying to fit in with the other humans, because these humans may be his only hope of finding his mother.

Looking at their hands intertwined, he stayed quiet for a moment before admitting, “I know it won’t...” Compulsions always made him feel better temporarily before the anxiety came back and next thing he knows, he’s spent hours with the same thoughts and the false promise that if he does his compulsion this time, then he’ll feel better.
Smiling softly, Lance gave a proud nod in return. He was happy Keith was acknowledging obsessing over it wouldn’t help. “Good job, baby... Now, what’s your main intrusive thought? Can we do an exposure therapy exercise?” He kept his voice soft and gentle, lacking the usual teasing. He knew Keith was anxious and he wasn’t going to contribute to it.
