Black Mesa and most of its personnel didn't matter to Benrey, or the rest of the Science Team for that matter. Benrey was ripped from his home planet and tested mercilessly on, Dr. Coomer was practically more robot than human from his cybernetic replacements, Bubby was Black Mesa's original pet project before Benrey came along, and Tommy had been treated as an outcast by most of his peers during his residence at the facility. They all had their bone to pick with Black Mesa, one way or another. Now more than ever, they needed to protect each other to finally escape and live their lives free of Black Mesa's clutches.
