Summary
“...You wish to be remade?” Spine’s voice is full of wonder, her frontmost legs rising in shock.
“No.” That idea she would dash as soon as it was uttered. For all Hellen felt towards her body, distaste or disconnection alike, she had no desire to become something further monstrous. She didn’t need claws and spikes to be what she is. “But you can open it up? Put it back to normal after? Good as new?”
The tail-like end of Spine’s body flicks, as though thinking, before she makes the rest of the distance between them. Once in front of Hellen, she stands on her hind legs, though it seems difficult and unsteady for her to. Even the dangling eye manages to stay locked onto hers, at first just staring. What she’s looking for, Hellen isn’t sure.
“Now why would you want me to do that?”
“I need to see.”
