The tub makes him look tiny. Or maybe it’s because the tub is massive, maybe he’s just normal sized in comparison, but he- really looks so small. Fragile, is that the word? You can’t really remember it now. All you can seem to focus on is Jake, sitting on the edge of the tub, staring at the floor. Dried blood’s gone and crusted the tiles, and he’s tracing the lines of red in the cracks. Blood from him. His arm, his clothes, his, everything.
“Jake,” you begin with a voice that’s only a little weak, “Can I hug you again?”

“This wasn’t part of the agreement,” Pharma manages to choke out. He hopes it sounds firm. But, truthfully, it sounds like he’s grasping at air. He has no power in these negotiations, and the term ‘agreement’ is only supplied to soften the truth of the word ‘blackmail’.
“Truly?” Tarn looks up from the transformation cogs he’s been running his servo over. “Then, I confess you’ve lost me. Our agreement has always been for you to supply me with t-cogs, doctor.”
“That,” Pharma frowns, “is not what I’m talking about.” Unspoken, he wishes to add, and you know that.

Summary
The flowers died long before they made it to Delphi. But First Aid remembers it anyway. Just like he remembers trying to make it up to his new coworker, his friend- finding that book on flower poetry, from some time on Earth. Sending a copy to Ambulon too. Look, First Aid had said. Astragalus means, ‘your presence softens my pain’.
Ambulon thought it was funny.
But it isn’t so funny now.
