This is a response to a terribly amusing 2015 kinkmeme prompt:
"Kind-of-crack AU idea which doesn't actually have to be crack:
Sherlock is a professional home-wrecker. When rich men want to get out of unwanted marriages, they hire Sherlock to "seduce" their wives (with or without actual sex) and then they can accuse their wives of infidelity in the divorce proceedings. With Sherlock's good looks and incredible ability to deduce exactly what women want, he's got no difficulty taking on interesting "cases" and the ethics don't bother him a bit.
Lestrade's wife presents an interesting gender twist: she hires Sherlock to seduce Lestrade, in an attempt to draw attention away from her own infidelities and come out ahead in the divorce. Only problem is, even though Lestrade and Sherlock are both strangely happy to make googly eyes at each other, Lestrade is unwilling to cheat on his wife. And Sherlock is finding himself more and more attracted to the DI because of it.
Totally up to you where this goes (or how much of this plot bunny you follow), as long as it involves some hot Sherstrade sex and a happy ending :-)"
I went with the non-cracky option, and haven't gotten to the sex yet--chapter 2 TBW.

Summary
This is an aftermath story. I am very fond of the confrontation/intervention scene at Baker Street after Mary's revealed as the shooter. Sherlock rises to new heights of strength and courage and personal commitment there, and his battle with John's desire to not-see what makes him uncomfortable is epic. Gorgeous writing, gorgeous acting, gorgeous resolution. That said, to me it seems clear that there's what one might think of as "a lot of work" still to be done to get John on the same page as Mary and Sherlock.
So, this is about some of that ongoing tough-love work, and conflict, and struggle. John loves his wife and his best friend--but he does't always understand them, and sometimes that lack of understanding trips him up. Especially as he has a temper.
Conflict, confrontation, some violence (limited, no injuries (well, maybe some bruises...)). Angry John. Tough Sherlock. Sober, worried Mary. Lots of love, but in very tough-love forms.

This fic goes canon divergent for everything following Mary acting as a client in His Last Vow. Sherlock misses John. John misses Sherlock. Victor Trevor, Sherlock's oldest friend (and a super nice guy in this version) and participant in the 'great sexual experiment of '98' shows up to cuddle the hell out of a touch-starved Sherlock, get him talking, and get those two idiots back together. He'll work on Mary later. One fucked-up couple at a time is all he can handle.

Sherlock was too thin, too dirty - it was always a bad sign when he neglected personal hygiene - and he looked as if he hadn't slept for a week.
"Oh, that ship sailed some years ago. You've been vocal enough about what you don't want. So tell me, brother dear, what is it you do want?"
"You to leave me the fuck alone," said Sherlock venomously.
Several heads turned. Mycroft ignored them. He took such incidents for granted when he was with Sherlock and had never cared what strangers thought - unless required to do so by his job.

Filled as part of this prompt by Anon: For some reason or other, our boys start talking about sex. Martin's experience is minimal (or completely non-existent), which surprises no one. Douglas has had a sexual encounter in half of the world's countries, which surprises no one. The real surprise is that Arthur has the busiest, kinkiest sex life ever, and he doesn't see why he shouldn't talk about it in explicit detail.
