When Syrax and Caraxes lay an egg together it heralds dark tides for house Targaryen, that is unless their riders can successfully simulate their 'dance'.
“Syrax has laid an egg, sired by Caraxes the Blood Wyrm. It is an omen from the Gods of old Valyria, one we should heed lest we be faced with a doom to rival that of old,” King Viserys explained, and the room fell into eerie, bated silence, awaiting explanation. “It is said that if the bonded dragon of an unwed Targaryen mates with the dragon of another, the two riders are to… recreate such action. A Dragon Dance, it is called. It is old, primeval magic which followed us here from Old Valyria, magic which the priests of the Seven are helpless to combat.”

Peeta is fourteen when he begins talking to Katniss Everdeen to make sure that they come out of Pairing Season in one piece. The rumors tell of the removal of sex organs or running a man dry. No one truly knows what people who don't pair before the end of the summer of their eighteenth year experience. They go to the Capital but once they're there, who knows what happens to them. There's only been one person from Twelve whose ever come back.

After seeing Gale taken away at the end of last summer, it solidified Peeta's thoughts on the Pairing Season and what it could do to both of them, because by then Peeta knew, if he saw Katniss on fire he would dive headfirst into the Inferno for her, and would get Katniss out above himself, because life without her wouldn't be worth it to him. He took a beating for her when he was eleven, he should have known then what he knows now. Katniss is it, and nothing, not even the flame will take that from him. Not if he has anything to say about it.

(The only obvious change other than Omegaverse is that the Sharpes are well off and don't need money hence the house is still in one piece and not rotting away. Thomas is doing very well with his clay mining, but he and his sister are still a little messed up, if you know what I mean.)
