Summary

Graves’s response a few minutes later makes him snort softly in amusement.
Yeah? Hot.
That’s followed immediately by a fire emoji, an eggplant, two splashes of what is supposed to be water but is clearly meant to represent something else, and a male figure with dark hair he suspects is supposed to represent him.
Makarov hits the little key to bring up the emoji keyboard – for the first time, ever – and scrolls through until he finds what he wants. He sends back the eggplant, the drops of “water”, the male figure with blond hair, and finally, the international symbol for no.
Less than a minute later, his phone vibrates with an incoming call.
“What the fuck,” Graves wheezes, when Makarov hits the answer call button. “Seriously, comrade, you almost killed me. Warn a guy the next time you decide to use emojis to eviscerate him, yeah? I almost choked to death on my coffee.”
