She realized that she was entirely too invested in this conversation and hadn’t even gotten around to texting the original person that she had been trying to text since all this started. She brushed it off, still unwilling to back out of the message thread.
For a brief moment, she wondered if this is where the conversation ended, the gap between messages longer than it had been for any of the previous. Maybe Vi, if that was really her name, got bored with entertaining the conversation and moved on with whatever she’d been doing before.
