It's the late 1980s, and Welsh country girl Adora has found herself in a London ballet studio at the demand of her modelling agent. While she thinks she's going to gain improved posture, what she actually gets is a big crush and a massive gay awakening, thanks to ballerina and burlesque dancer Catra.
Light 1980s angst with a happy (and hopefully historically plausible) ending inspired by Sammy Rae & The Friends' awesome song 'Jackie Onassis' .

“This is what I get for listening to my agent,” Adora grumbles under her breath, “Improve your posture, my arse.”
“Nothing wrong with your arse,” Adora startles as a playful voice seeps into her ear and she feels the bristle of another woman’s hair on her shoulder, “Posture is another story, though.”
Adora can only gape open-mouthed as she watches a slight brunette saunter past her and work her way to the very front of the class. It’s impossible to look away from her smooth complexion and dark brown waves - Adora thinks her hair might be natural, not even a blow-out - but when the woman starts to stretch, her leg propped high on the barre, heat prickles inexplicably across Adora’s chest.

"Hello, my love." His eyes widen and darken, taking in her state of undress. He lingers on her bare legs and the dip of the loose-fitting shirt around her breast. The stare makes her want to throw the reports aside but she doesn't know how to ask for that. He pauses, taking in her expression and softening. "What's wrong, dearest?"
"Nothing." She's a little snappish, but that's part of who she is. Sea Hawk wouldn't love her any differently.
He tilts his head, as if solving a puzzle. His expression clears as he readily walks toward her, getting down on his knees in front of her. His hands grip the legs of the chair, looking every bit like an obedient man. "Is there anything I can help you with?" There's a knowing tone in his voice that on anyone else would sound smug.
He looks patient and kind, submissive as ever. It makes her think less and less of the reports. She drops the one she has in her hand on the floor, not caring about finishing it now.

Adora is one of 1890s Vienna’s most celebrated painters, famous for her embellished portraits of the middle class bourgeoisie. Her success, however, has come at a cost: there is little room for women in the high arts, and it’s only under the name of her late brother Adam that she has made her mark. For a decade, she’s kept her acquaintances comfortably distant; yet when a client’s relative arrives in Vienna, her left eye burning gold, Adora is inexplicably determined to get close. Adora insists on painting Catra in her private quarters, layering gold leaf on her canvases for the first time. As her attraction to Catra builds quickly, Adora can’t help but think the other woman is drawn to her too. It isn’t long before the rumours of Adora’s obsession sets the salon aflame, and both her identity and career are put at risk. Soon, she has to decide if fame and success are worth the price of gold.

She can't help but let out a whimper, her knee almost giving in at the electricity that shoots out from her core. "Oh princess, you're so easy."
