“Is there nothing else that helps you sleep? Nothing at all?”
“Well, Rachel used to offer me sex or a back rub, both worked, but I doubt you want to give me either, so.”

Steve finds a way to deal with Danny's insomnia, things only deteriorate from there.

Summary
Eddie’s massage therapist is Briana.
He confirmed this six times: twice on the website, once during a phone call he made from his truck in the grocery store parking lot like it was a covert operation, three more times in the confirmation email.
"Eddie?"
He looks up.
That is not Briana.
The guy standing in the hallway entrance is tall and built like someone whose job description wildly undersold the physical reality. There's a birthmark above his eye that shouldn't work but does, way too much, and his scrubs fit him well. They — okay. They fit him obscenely well, actually.
His arms. God, his arms. They're just arms. Everyone has arms.
Eddie is suddenly, involuntarily, thinking about what it would feel like to have those arms braced on either side of him. Or around him. Or holding him down.
Which is not a thought he's ever had about a man's arms before. He's pretty sure. He's almost sure. He's going to move on from this.
He is going to stop looking at the arms.
Any second now.
Or,
It's just a massage. Eddie can survive that. Right?- Language:

Summary
Buck runs, and Eddie follows.
-----
It’s been over two months of chasing Buck across the country, from state to state to state, following a trail he suspects Buck doesn’t realize he’s dropping breadcrumbs on. If he did, Eddie worries he’d stop sending the postcards, and they’re his only clues. Buck left his phone in his apartment back in Los Angeles. If he’s gotten a new one, he hasn’t shared the number with anyone—not Maddie, not Chris, and certainly not Eddie.
So Eddie lays in a too-soft bed in a too-small cabin in the middle of bumfuck Nebraska, the first grey light of dawn creeping its fingers past the dusky pink curtains, and reads the postcard again. He knows what it says by heart, but it makes him feel a little less alone to hear Buck’s voice in his head.

Summary
“I took credit for your sandwiches tonight,” Steve says, and out of the corner of his eye he can see Grace make some sort of gesture that involves her hand going to her face, but he can’t look away from Danny to figure out if it’s shock or disgust or joy.
Or: Steve picks a base. (As always, he may need a refresher on the rules.)

Summary
Danny leaves one hand on his hip, but he uses the other to gesture in that way he has that broadcasts his Jersey-Italian roots like he’s reading out his family tree over a megaphone. “I’m so happy to see you right now, I’ll give you a hug, I’ll give you a kiss, pick a base.”
And Steve’s brain - well, it’s not very fair to say that it screeches to a halt, because it hasn’t been moving properly ever since it connected the twin points of Danny and Grace to a hostage situation. In any case, what tumbles out of his mouth, way too unfiltered, is, “A kiss?”
In which Steve perhaps doesn’t so much pick the right base, as finds himself on it, somehow, and realizes he never wants to leave.

“Steve is not my boyfriend,” he says, his voice impressively even, he thinks.
There Grace’s eyebrows go again. He’s not even looking at her, but he catches it in the corner of his eyes, and he can feel it with his sixth sense developed during fatherhood. “Then how did you know I was talking about him?”
“Well, I mean,” he starts, with no idea how to go on, because she’s got a point there, maybe, in some ways.
In which Grace has something to say about her dad telling Steve to pick a base.

“What, oh?” Danny’s eyes skitter over to him, and then shoot away. “No,” he says firmly, like he’s getting ahead by pre-denying whatever Steve is going to accuse him of.
Obviously Steve accuses him of it anyway. “You’re jealous.”
Or: Danny may or may not be jealous, and Steve may or may not be relieved about it.

“You’re an idiot,” Danny tells him, once he’s laid out his plan. That part, as well as the slightly tense disapproval that comes with Danny trying to hide his concern, is exactly what Steve expects. What he does not expect is the immediate sequel, in which Danny demands, “Take your shirt off.”
Or: Steve is an idiot. He takes his shirt off. All is well with the world.

So for a while that’s the routine the house settles into: Junior has his own room, Steve and Danny share one, and Eddie has all the luxury a dog could ever wish for in having the couch all to himself.
And then Junior moves out.
Or: Obviously Danny is very happy when there’s suddenly nothing forcing Steve and him to sleep in the same bed anymore. So happy! Just so, so happy.

Summary
Danny can see ghosts. Plain as day, right in front him. He’s always been able to see them - it’s his gift. But if you ask him, it feels more like a curse.
When Rachel moved to Hawaii and Danny followed, he decided to hide his gift. If people or ghosts knew about it, they’d take advantage, they’d use him. And he was sick of that. So instead, he gave up being a cop and bought a bookstore where he could spend more time alone and fewer dead people bothered him.
When he’s visited by the ghost of a brutally murdered man, he puts in an anonymous tip about his killers but unbeknownst to Danny, Five-0 has immunity and means, and the head of the task force, Steve McGarrett, isn’t above hunting down someone to make them less anonymous. Before long, Danny finds himself consulting and going undercover with McGarrett, putting himself back into the dangerous situations he used to face as a cop. The things he’ll do to help a ghost cross over…

“You can’t still seriously believe –”
“You were there,” he hisses at her. “You saw the flowers. The doctor Dad saw –”
“Was a hack,” she scoffs.
“ – gave him a copy of the X-rays to prove what Mamo was saying was true!” His whisper raises in exasperation at the end. “Can we not argue about this again? Not right now.” He glances down at Joanie pointedly.
“I’m worried about you,” she says. “Do you plan on being single for the rest of your life?”
“Yes,” Steve says, firmly.
