There are no Death Note, gods, or rules here. Instead, mainstream streamers Kira and L beef on Twitch during the day, share an apartment at night, and have late-night discussions about justice and crime at midnight; all while circling each other over and over again, unable to decide whether to destroy or understand one another.
This was supposed to be a game. It stops being one when L dedicates his undergraduate thesis to Light.

Summary
Five years go by in a blur of rage, which mellows out into a dull, throbbing misery. He never gets over it. He doesn’t think he has the ability to.
Five years go by; he cannot move on with his life. He doesn’t know why he is stagnant. He couldn’t move on even if he tried.
As it seems, five years of friendship can be ruined in one single night. L and Light reconnect five years after their messy split, still marred by the loss, and are forced to address things as they come. Namely, why L decided to confess right before leaving.

Light turns to him, unzipping his sweatshirt. “Undress.”
“Excuse me?”
Light doesn’t repeat it, just takes off his tennis t-shirt and throws it away, without taking his eyes off him.
Ryuzaki shivers as Light proceeds to kick away his track pant and then he’s hooking the waistband of his boxers and L slightly panics. “We’re… ah, we’re not having sex, Light-kun.”
