Summary
“Satisfied?” Light grumbles into the phone, shutting his laptop with a soft click, and padding his way over to his bathroom. As he stands, L’s gentle voice crackles over the speaker.
“No, never.”
“Predictable,” he snuffs, running his toothbrush under the tap water, “So, then, what would keep you satisfied? If anything.”
There’s shuffling on L’s end, before he says, fluid, like a paintbrush over wood, all too easy, like it’s the easiest thing in the world, “You.”
The Kira case wanes in 2004, and eventually goes cold. L departs from Japan, and five years go by. Until, one night in 2009, L tells Light that the Kira case is being reopened, and L wants to help acquit him before he is inevitably caught. But, like always, there is a catch that comes with L's favour, and now Light is stuck playing teacher in a house full of genius orphans while mending the rift that had blossomed between himself and L.

Summary
L tilts his head, inquisitive, smiling all the while, as the tap runs its timer, and the water stops flowing.
Clearing his throat, Light stands and looks back in front of him, at his reflection, ignoring the looming reflection of L over his shoulder, “Of course I lie. Who doesn’t? But I don’t lie where it matters. Only little white lies.”
He fixes his tie, flicks the water droplets off his hands and styles his hair, framing the curling side pieces around his jaw.
"I like that you lie,” L tells him, “Because I always know when you do, and you know that I know. It’s like an implicit game. I just wonder when you’ll stop hiding behind words and just tell me that you’re Kira.”
Yagami Light is the front-man for an unpopular Visual Kei tribute band while also juggling being the world's most elusive serial killer. L is assigned to the case, and has to figure out how to draw Light out into a confession, but finds himself tangled up in his own emotions, which complicates things a lot.

Summary
Light wasn’t sure how or why it had happened. Tsuki was a stillborn baby. He was, for all intents and purposes, dead. He didn’t exist for anyone else, aside from Light himself. There was no one else who could see, hear or touch him. Tsuki, himself, couldn’t interact with the material world too much without using tremendous amounts of energy that left him weak and translucent, edges blurring into the background for hours afterwards.
And yet, he had grown up right by Light’s side for all these years.

“Is that why you dropped this? To see what a human would do with it?”Ryuk rolled over on his back and fixed those bulbous red eyes on the twins, the image somehow even more disturbing upside down.
“Perceptive, aren't ya, kiddo?” His smirk got impossibly wider. “Soooo…ya gonna use it? Either of you, I'm not picky!”

Or, what if Death Note happened, but Light was an L fanboy and had an identical twin named Tsuki to keep him sane -

Summary
”If memories and imagery of something unholy persist in your mind, pray. It’s all you can do.”
It is common word that L was blessed by Him himself and as such it is even more common of a practice to use his holy body for your protection.
Or: L is the church’s most dutiful priest, sacrificing his very blood for the faithful, and Kira is the sinner most infatuated with him, attending mass under the disguise of Light Yagami.

Summary
Light Yagami is a rising detective with conviction and ambition, but in a world where the law isn’t always enough to deliver justice, he operates outside the rules. When he receives a cryptic note from the enigmatic L, his curiosity leads to a meeting that sets off a series of events, pulling them both into a shifting web of corruption. Forced into a reluctant partnership, they begin unraveling a dangerous conspiracy with dire consequences for the justice system.
In this alternate universe where death notes don’t exist, Light has found other ways to assert control. L, drawn to Light’s intelligence and determination, has his own reasons for becoming involved. What begins as a reluctant alliance soon turns into something more complex. As they work together, the lines between right and wrong blur in unexpected ways.
Can Light outsmart L and maintain control, or will he become trapped in a web far more intricate than he anticipated? As their partnership deepens, trust grows, and their connection evolves, neither could foresee how their feelings would shift the balance in ways they can’t control. In a world where justice is elusive, their bond will be tested in ways neither predicted.

Summary
“There’s nothing wrong with that. Not all of us are insomniacs.” (What did he see?)
“No. Not everyone is. But you’ve had struggles with it, yes?”
He has to take a gasp of air, force it down his throat as if wrangling a testy animal. It’s perfectly smooth. He’s done this many many times before. “Why would you say that?” he manages.
“You exhibited signs of restlessness and disturbance while in bed. You reacted to them with the pattern of one who’s used to these disturbances. Strangely, you seemed to be covering this up. Unusual tenseness. As if you were worried someone was watching you. Do you struggle with paranoia, Light-kun?”

Light confesses something. It doesn't end well.

Summary
That’s right. He has one card. A very important card. The reason he’s here, most likely. He is going to slit the ghost’s throat with that card.
As if reading his mind on his face, it smiles. It gestures at his empty plate. “Shinigami love apples.”
He is going to use its heartstrings as tooth floss.

Or: they both hesitate to pull the trigger.

Summary
In a world where Omegas are in the top of the hierarchy, Prince Light Yagami is told to find an Alpha Donor to be able to rule the throne. He must find an Alpha that is strong and has a clean record AND pedigree, but none of them seem to catch his eye.
This is a retelling of The Purchased Alpha by Hawke Oakley!!! A lot of this will have a familiar plot and theme as the original, I suggest supporting the author in any way possible. The story may have original dialogue compared to the original. Death Note NOR The Purchased Alpha belongs to me. I also do not make any money from this fic. Please support the original creators!!!

Summary
Light has been acting weird the last few days. L takes this behavioral change as proof that Light is Kira- and he is trying too hard to convince those closest to him that he isn't.
To convince L that he is not Kira, Light confesses to a crush, which L gives him 7 days to prove.
TLDR; Two geniuses who think they're above love for the sake of the game.

Summary
L and Light both get reincarnated after the events of Death Note. Light remembers everything, L does not. What's more confusing is they are both the same age at To'Oh University. In this new life, some things are the same while others are vastly different.
Light is convinced he and L have been brought back as some kind of experiment. He soon begins to wonder if it's some sort of cosmic irony as he realises L has a Death Note and a loyal and fearsome Shinigami at his beck and call.
When L tells him they've been brought back as they've both not achieved their true purpose in life, Light has his eyes opened to what is truly important...

Summary
L is not often confused.
Indeed, it’s a rather rare occurrence that he can look at a problem without brainstorming numerous potential answers and theories, so his brain stuttering to a stop, unable or unwilling to process what was going on, was rather unsettling.
His brain felt sluggish, as if hesitant to take in any information other than what Light’s hand felt like pressing against his neck.
*********** A very self-indulgent fic about L trying to tease out a 'Kira' like reaction out of Light by any means necessary. 10k worth of a power hungry Light, a curious L desperate to prove himself right, and both of them finding that they mesh perfectly together.

Maybe it’s stockholm syndrome, maybe it's Maybelline, it's probably that they're both just fucking nuts.
***
By early-mid September, they were kissing just because.
Light had turned to L during another session of sitting on the roof and talking, because they also did that with increasingly concerning frequency. L had said something, he couldn’t remember what, but Light’s response was permanently seared into L’s brain matter.
His gaze had flicked to L’s lips, then to his eyes, and he’d asked with urgency: “Can I kiss you? Would you mind?”
Well, L didn’t mind if a pretty boy kissed him at all. Who in their right mind would? (Someone with a sense of professionalism, perhaps. But those idiots didn’t get to kiss Light, and L was known for his intelligence.)

L knows Light is Kira and he knows investigating Yotsuba will lead to his downfall and death. His instincts are never wrong. So when Light starts displaying a sexual interest in him, L decided a new method of investigation is in order because losing to Kira is not an option...
This is a twisted tale indeed of gameplaying, emotional manipulation, sneakyness and of falling for ones own trap. Will L execute Light as Kira? Or will he surprise everyone around him by doing something quite different...

Summary
The main problem Light faced was the utter dissonance between each of their daily lives and their complete inability and unwillingness to come to a compromise. Light was used to 8 hours of sleep every night, reasonable work hours, daily showers and at least an hour in the mornings spent on his hair and skin care routine (One couldn't look this perfect without putting in the work, after all, even if he made it seem effortless). L was used to.... well, Light couldn't describe it as anything but the devil's routine, coming directly from the 9th circle of hell and seemingly perfectly tailored to wreak the most suffering out of one Light Yagami.

Light tries to cope with his feelings for L as well as L's daily routines. It doesn't go as planned. Not as he planned anyway. L on the other hand, is very pleased. -

“Rem, stop!” he yells, turning to her, then covering his mouth.

Light gets his memories back and isn't sure what he feels, just that he can't watch L die.

Summary
Viscount Lawliet returns from Paris to manage his family estate in the English countryside, not suspecting he would soon become involved with a case of what appears to be ritualistic murders.
Then there is the priest's brilliant son, Light...
It is January 1789, the year of the Great Revolution in France. But the storm that is going to sweep across the continent some six months later is not yet to be seen over the horizon even for those who are closely connected to the circulation of European diplomacy and international politics. Britain is just recovering from the shock of losing his colonies; the new constitution of the now independent, united states came into force a few days before our story starts.
