Summary
To tie up the loose ends of a hunt, Dean is forced to go undercover and visit Brock Pleasure Ranch, a horrifying establishment that markets its inhabitants to people with ‘monstrous’ tastes.
It should have been a simple thing, to persuade a mer to give him a few scales for a spell. All part of the usual Winchester byline: saving people, hunting things.
But Castiel is far less of a ‘thing’ than Dean expected. He might not be human, but he’s definitely a person.
And that means he needs saving, too.

Summary
Dean and Benny are expert bank robbers. Up and down the west coast, they steal millions but spend it faster than Nicolas Cage let loose in a dinosaur skull shop. As a result, they have various ‘creditors’ on their tail that are just as persistent (but only slightly more violent) than the IRS. In order to get one of the many mafias they’re dodging off their backs, they decide to rob a gas station.
What neither of them accounts for though, is the mysterious night-shift clerk, Steve, and his unwavering grace under fire. Dean’s at first intrigued, then in love, then in trouble, as the night progresses and the time ticks down to when the Gas-n-Sip’s safe opens.

Summary
in an unnamed, perpetually rainy city on the east coast, something haunts dean and cas’ apartment. they’d like to pretend they don’t know what’s living in the space between them, but feigned ignorance can only keep them above water for so long.
something happened nine months ago. something they don’t talk about.
but the things people don’t talk about often find ways to speak for themselves, whether dean and cas are ready to pay their dues or not. the rain is an unforgiving entity, and as it continues to pervade the city; as it seeps into their already cold bones, they can feel the ocean rising around them, leaving them choking not on just what happened nine months ago, but what they’ve come to mean to each other since then.

"The— the thing!" Her voice comes out hoarse, making her cough. "With Dean, it came in with him!"
"What, you mean Cas?"
Horror leeches into her, the breath snatched from her lungs as she looks incredulously at Sam. "That's Cas? Do you even know what that thing is?"

Summary
What does John see when he looks at Cas?
Cas doesn’t look like a monster.
But neither does Dean.
John stands, slow. He holds out a hand. Calloused like Dean’s hands are calloused. Scarred the same way that Dean’s hands are scarred. There’s the smell of him in the air too. Earthy and dark, slightly sour around the edges. The room feels suddenly choked with it. Claustrophobic.
Cas probably smells like the fabric softener they buy in bulk at Costco, but so does Dean so he can’t tell.
John says, toneless, “I hear you’ve been driving my car.”

The closer you are to what you want—
Dean's twenty-nine year old mother, his undefined relationship with Cas and their small family. Some kind of impossible reconciliation with John Winchester. Michael, out of his head, without destroying the world. His father's approval. To see the Grand Canyon.
