Summary
Wednesday spends her nights behind a camera lens; Enid, her social media-savvy roommate, spends hers in front of one. But as Enid’s online life goes viral, she drifts further and further out of reach. At first, Wednesday doesn’t care. Why would she? She’s immune to the shallow dopamine drip of likes and followers. Or at least, she tells herself that.
Liking every post started out of spite. Then it became a ritual—a pathetic way of staying connected. And she’s perfectly content to yearn from a distance.
Until Enid posts the caption: “What do you do when the person you want is right there but won’t even look up from their camera?”
And, well, now Wednesday is utterly doomed.

Summary
Wednesday was annoyed, and all Enid could do was wait for her to talk to her again. Patience. Enid could manage that.
But then Wednesday gets hurt, really hurt, and suddenly patience means nothing. Maybe this is what it takes for Enid to admit what she’s been avoiding all along, or at least get close.

"Or shall we revisit the moment you used my body in a fit of jealousy, only to start babbling about whichever boy came to mind moments after you’d even climbed off me?"
Enid just sank to the ground, and Wednesday hummed, content. "I thought as much."

“Fix it? You’re the reason he escaped!” Enid yelled, tired of holding back.
“I’m perfectly aware!” Wednesday’s loud retort was sharp and unforgiving, her eyes wide, fists clenched by her sides, voice raspy. The intensity of it made Enid flinch, and she took an unwilling step back, shocked by the uncharacteristically emotional response from her roommate, whose face and head were still covered with scratches and stitches.
And her heart hammered faster.

They broke up for a lot of reasons, not just because they thought they were both doing what they thought was right, and Sammy certainly didn't do it only for herself, but because they were hurting each other. And they loved each other too much to keep doing that.
But it didn't matter how hard Sammy tried to forget, or move on, she'd always end up in the same place as her.

Summary
Hester approached, sitting beside Enid with a conspiratorial air. “So, little wolf… what are you to her?”
Enid froze. The question hit like an arrow. She looked at Hester, then at the door through which Wednesday had exited.
“I… we’re friends,” she said, a little awkwardly. “We’ve been through a lot together. And she… she’s important to me.”
“I noticed that,” Hester said, her gaze sharp. “But what are you to her? Because, honestly, I’ve never seen my granddaughter like this with anyone. Not even her own family.”
Enid bit her lip, her heart racing. “Maybe… maybe I’m someone she chose. And that’s already a lot coming from Wednesday.”
Hester smiled, satisfied with the answer. “Yes. That’s a lot.”
Or… Wednesday manages to bring Enid back to human form, and they spend some time at Hester Frump’s mansion while Enid recovers. Feelings inevitably surface.
