Eddie almost wished there was some trial by God after death. Something like a courtroom where his life was thrown into speculation and nitpicked and torn apart until there was nothing left but himself standing naked in front of a jury of everyone who had ever lived before him and they simply watched while some gorgeous guy with a halo over his head sentenced him to damnation. Something that he'd come to expect in his forty years of living through a protestant upbringing. Actually, anything would be better than what he saw.
Or Eddie becomes a ghost after he dies under the Neibolt house and tries to adjust to everything that comes with it.

He had heard about the final travels of the esteemed wolverine, he heard about El Paso, about the compound in Mexico, the house somewhere around kansas, the shallow grave of Charles Xavier, the doctor even further up north, and where it all came to a head. He knew he wasn't going to find him, the wolverine, not alive anyway, but he still followed his footsteps in hopes that he could find the children he was trying to save.

Dabi looks at Hawks batting his lashes, sitting on the couch in his hideous Gucci sweater. Christ, Dabi can’t stop looking at it. It’s a point of public safety that Hawks has a stylist for when he actually needs to leave the house. That sweater could cause car crashes. “I guarantee that won’t be an issue.”
Hawks needs to come out, Dabi needs to promote his debut album, and they make an awful mess of this fake relationship thing.

Richie lets out a small, startled gasp when the door opens and floods the carrier with bright and brilliant sunlight. Eddie can’t quite see his face, angled too much in the wrong direction, but he can hear it when Richie wordlessly starts to cry. Eddie is suddenly viscerally desperate to get them off of there, to put Richie in the sunlight where he belongs and out of the clothes that no longer fit him right. Eddie squeezes Richie’s hand as best as he can. Richie finally turns to him, giving him a small and reassuring smile. His eyes are red and tears still stain his cheeks and Eddie cannot get enough of him, the golden hue of him only illuminated by the sunlight.
