Blood drips between his fingers, forming a small puddle on the glass.
He watches the droplets falling to the ground with rapt fascination, attention away from the mangled body before him, facing up the stars. He watches the pool of crimson expand as if it’s the greatest discovery of all times, as if blood isn’t drenching the roof he’s standing on.
He feels nothing but hollow joy, the bitter aftertaste sour on his tongue.
It doesn’t feel like a victory.
