    Summary

Dream’s always liked autumn. He thinks it’s the same color as fire, and just as threatening.

Autumn is chilly, vast, empty. There’s some unspoken magic that comes with September, and his mind seems to clear when clouds cover the sky above him.

Conveniently, George got his visa on the first day of autumn.

Patience is a virtue, they say. Dream must be the most virtuous man on Earth.

    Summary

Dream pouted, “But what if I want to send you songs I’ve written? And I don’t feel like reading them out over the phone?”
“Are you saying you want to write songs for me?” George grinned.
That grin would be the death of Dream, surely. He would never be able to forget it. Through every city, every country, every place, Dream would remember George’s stupid smirk, always.
His cheeks fumed red, “Maybe I am. Guess you’ll have to write it down for me or you’ll never find out.”

Or, where Dream, lead singer of the band Sonrisa, falls for a boy in London named George. Through telephone calls and ardent letters, everything he knows comes into question as he struggles to fight for forbidden love in the starry London night.

    Summary

“I like being able to touch you,” Dream says, his voice so soft, well past the point of incriminating.

He anticipates George, hears ‘why did you say it like that?’ so clearly it’s almost like he just said it aloud.

The sentence never comes. Instead George shifts, the feeling and sound of him coming from even closer, and his knees bump into Dream’s and stay there.

A last meetup prediction before we won’t have to predict it anymore.

    Summary

Springtime. Springtime, and fields of wildflowers, and destruction, and pecks on cheeks, and forest fires. George thinks Dream is a forest fire, left with too much fuel for his own good. He thinks that one day Dream will consume him in his flame, and quit their search for his heart. George wonders if Dream knew he was the detective of George’s story, the one to quell his thoughts, the one he calls when he cries and he doesn’t know why. George wonders if Dream knows what he does to him, and there’s springtime and forest fires in his gaze, and Dream’s blaze rages in all its vengeful glory.

And once again George feels like Atlas, keeping the sky from putting out the fire out of his own greed. He holds the sky in his arms so it doesn't fall and destroy the earth like he can hear it whisper. The sky whispers in his ears and the smoke is stinging his eyes and Dream is looking at him in the entry hall with the rosewood banister and the coral red door.

Beautiful boy. I think you will be the death of me. I can see the burns on your arms. Will we be matching soon?

or, there’s exactly twelve steps between their doors, and one of them is bound to crack eventually

    Summary

But how could he possibly be alive if his heart was all the way in Florida?
George was convinced that Dream stole his heart. Sometime, all those years ago when they kept getting closer and closer, the blond had stolen his heart from the brunet’s chest. He’d kept it safe next to his own, George used to think. He’d protected it, and cared for it all these years to make sure that when George finally got there, it was whole.

Or, where George is broken by Dream's silence, and he has no clue how to fix the giant, gaping hole in his chest.
