“Hey, Buck,” Eddie not-quite-slurs. It’s a close thing, though. The glass in his hand is his fourth— no, fifth, and wine always hits him so much harder.
He’s bright-eyed and rosy-cheeked and loose-limbed on the couch, pressed so close to Buck he’s half in his lap.
Buck’s got a steadying arm around his waist— couldn’t avoid the draw to touch even if he wanted to.
“Hm?” Buck asks, feeling a little buzzy himself.
“Buck,” Eddie repeats. “You’re bicyc—bisect— bisexual.”
Buck laughs at Eddie’s stumble. Smiles bright, proud, and nods. “I am,” he agrees.
“Have you ever—” Eddie’s winestained mouth purses; his brow furrows thoughtfully, “— have you ever thought about me?” He sways forward, widens his eyes purposefully, whispers, “Like, y’know.”

The dazed look stays on Nursey’s face for a couple seconds before his eyes widen and his face drops like he doesn't know where that came from.
“Wait, no, I don't mean like—! I didn't mean to say that out loud. Not that I was thinking it, obvs. It just—” he cuts himself off as he sees the look on Dex's face and groans. “Don’t.”
Dex slaps a hand to his own mouth but it isn't enough to stop the laugh that escapes him.
Nursey whines, covering his face. “Oh my god.”

"You miss me that much, Dex?" Nursey asks, aiming for teasing and mostly succeeding. Probably.
Dex shrugs as his smile takes a nervous edge and a flush drowns out his freckles. “Yeah,” he admits casually, like it doesn’t almost knock Nursey on his ass.
“Chill, I missed you too,” Nursey says, and Dex looks relieved.
"Hey, Nursey," Dex starts, his mouth pulling back into the confident thing from earlier, "do you have a sunburn or are you always this hot?"
It’s so unexpected that Nursey can’t help but burst out laughing right there on the sidewalk. One of the worst pick up lines he’s ever heard in his entire life and it came right out of Dex's mouth.
"That was terrible. Is that all you got?" Nursey pokes Dex's red shoulder and Dex inhales sharply. "Besides, it looks like you're the one with the sunburn. Hashtag lobster."
Or, five times Dex uses a terrible pick up line on Nursey and one time he doesn't.

The thing is, he’s had study nights and tv marathons in Chowder’s room. He’s gotten stoned in Shitty’s, and Lardo’s, crashed on Jack’s floor after a kegster, gone to Bitty’s for advice, and checked Ransom and Holster’s for ghosts. If it were anyone else’s, Nursey would at least have some indicator of what was going on, because he’d be able to recognise the decorations, the layout.
