It wasn’t supposed to become a fight.
Jason had gone to the Cave of his own volition, to ask Dick about a case he was working on, a trafficking ring that was moving into the alley after years on Bludhaven. Jason had asked a question, Dick had admitted to not knowing, and told Jason to ask Bruce. Bruce would know. So Jason asked Bruce.
Jason didn’t know how they had ended up here, but somehow a simple question about the legal procedure that would follow the bust had turned into a screaming match.

But then the voice started speaking directly to him. Conversing like he was a whole person standing right in front of him. Like he could see what was happening around Eddie.
Eddie shook his head. No one was talking to him, and Eddie most certainly was not talking back.

“Man, you’re so mean,” Gojo shoots back at him, grinning, “You’re sour because you don’t have enough sweets in your life.” He fishes out a bright yellow candy and throws it at Suguru.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Suguru’s politeness sharpens.
“D’aww, relax, grumpy. I’m just trying to sweeten you up.”
Gojo Satoru has the sort of smile that really shouldn’t be trusted. It makes Suguru’s face redden, warm angry flush spreading over his cheeks. Suguru throws the candy back at him. It hits him square in the chest, bounces in his lap.
“Take care with the candy, Gojo-kun. I wouldn’t want you to choke on it.”
