Part of him wanted to leave. It had been about a month since he’d settled down on Earth, and he still wasn’t really used to the whole ‘reconnecting with old friends’ deal. That wouldn’t be fair, though. The last thing he wanted was for her to find out he was living a (sort of) normal life from someone else.
The absolute minimum she deserved was a bit of in-person honesty. Well, the honesty technically came in the form of a letter, but at least it was being delivered in-person.

Summary
Shaun was absolutely not afraid of the blue box in the garden. Not one bit. Even if he was choosing to stand as far away as physically possible when knocking gently on the door. Ok, maybe not really “knocking” so much as tapping gently with the very tip of his fingers. Maybe “tapping” might actually be too strong a word. But that didn’t mean he was scared. Just, no need to get any closer. This was fine.
What could possibly go wrong?
A lot, it turns out. And Shaun is thrown into the middle as the Doctor encounters people from his past-- friends and foes-- and tries to preserve their future.
