Summary
Two months following the release of Variola Chimera on New York City, Second Wave Division Agent Lenore Lee finds herself inside the Manhattan Dark Zone during a record breaking blizzard. Initially her and her team are dispatched to recover samples of an experimental antiviral treatment, but just about everything that could go wrong in the Dark Zone, has. Their helicopter has crashed, they have no line of communications with the base of operations, most of her team is dead or wounded, and Lenny is struggling with a fever due to an infected injury.
Now they are being stalked by mysterious figures in black masks who seem to know their every move before they even make them, intent on seeing them all butchered and bled to the last man. Unbeknownst to Lenny, this group includes one person she already knows - and who may know her more intimately than she knows herself, with intentions even darker than they initially seem.
The question isn't just one of if Lenny can survive - but what will be left of her if she does?
