    There are many things MJ doesn't like about college. One of them is her roommates, who weren't really the academic type. Another was her lab partner, Peter Parker, who seemed insanely smart but was always running late and doing his work at the last minute. It was annoying when a lot of that work they had to do together, and the grade reflected both of them. And, her professor wouldn't let her switch partners. After getting to know him, however, it seems there's more to him than meets the eye.

    Tony finds Spider-Man on the roof of his favorite coffee shop.

    A few days after Siberia, it hurts to move—to reply to Spider-Man, even, when he tries to talk—but Tony, while irritated, assumes it’s a one-off incident.

    It’s not.

    Tony keeps leaving the too-quiet Tower for his caffeine fix, Spider-Man keeps popping up against the shop’s heater vent, and as weeks turn into months, Tony finds himself with a new friend. And if Spider-Man is a little dodgy here and there, well, Tony figures everyone’s entitled to their secrets.

    Or, Tony doesn’t recruit Spider-Man for the Avengers’ Civil War. Maybe if he had, he would’ve caught that something was up with the guy before things went to shit.

    May is dead.

    It's been two weeks, and Peter hasn't told anyone yet. He's been kicked out of the apartment, and hasn't been to school since he got the phone call. Happy's been ignoring him, as usual. Tony's been busy trying to get the government to pardon the Rogue Avengers. Peter's been in solitude ever since that night.

    Afraid and heartbroken, Peter knows he can't do this alone.

    Doesn't mean he won't try to anyway.

     

    HEY SO DISCLAIMER? I wrote this when I was 14/15 and dealing with my own shit. In my own personal opinion, it's poorly paced in a way that I think comes off as a little insensitive and was written with an almost false sense of "everything is going to be okay" in an attempt to convince myself that it would be. But some people found it helpful and others liked it anyways (though some others had very valid criticisms which I definitely share). I took this down at one point but have put it back up. Read at your own discretion, I guess. And most importantly: stay safe. You are loved.
